Best Gym in San Francisco?

  Any recommendations for a great gym in San Francisco? I'll stay at the Hilton-Union Square so a gym nearby would be great, but if your favorite is a 'must visit', I'll probably check it out even if it's not convenient.
  
  I used to be in the fitness business and I still have a fascination for great gyms. Plus, I love a great workout.

  Being the most active forum also means the thread will sink fastest in the list.
  I would suggest posting it in General Fitness Discussion or Travel.

  It depends on how much you're willing to pay for the membership. I got my friend to sign up at Equinox because it fits the standards he is wanting and there's a pool and sauna there.
  Although Crunch Fitness is a good gym to go to as well.
  
  Is this a permanent stay or a temporary stay?
