    Very touching story,
I try to help people in need when i can, last winter a woman was sleeping on a park bench along central park, as i was getting out of the cab my heart went out to her because it was very cold...So i went upstairs and brought her down a comforter, she was sleeping so i just covered her,, she woke up and said; ''Thank you sweety'....
Well in new york someone is always watching from their window and it took no time at all before numerous people started telling me how wonderful i was to assist her...An older gay gentleman approached me and told me that the woman i helped was a b'way dancer from way back and she had it going on,,,he said she was known for her legs and boy could she kick...Anyway to make a long story short,,,the area queens got together and she now has a roof over her head and working in a fabric store owned by one of the neighbors....She's a hoot,,,and she loves the everyone...
Just wanted to share that, most homeless people are just like us until that day bad luck struck, for the grace of god[the universe] we stand tall...

Another bleeding heart tree-hugging politically correct liberal ENABLER! I clean toilets in a public bldg for a living ~ do you actually think I WANT to do that? I'm probably cleaning up after THIS GUY! It puts food on the table & a roof over my head. Oh, I guess I could take YOUR hard-earned money to do that, but that would make me....A LAZY BUM. I'm a 49 yr woman with arthritis & a bad back ~ if I can work, so can YOU!! Cleaning jobs are easy to find...if you actually want to work. GIVE A MAN A FISH, FEED HIM FOR A DAY ~ TEACH A MAN TO FISH, FEED HIM FOR A LIFETIME. Anybody can fish.

I work every day and I don't buy vitamin water, I get my deodorant on sale and I know I can't affoer cigarettes. For $25 I could buy groceries for the week! I'm happy he brought the card back, but buying the things he did is probably how he ended up homeless. From what I read, he was homeless while he was working too!!! Good deed, but not newsworthy.

@jgymnast733- you are awesome for what you did!

This was a touching story- thank you for sharing. I don't think I would give up my own credit card for someone to use.

I haven't gone to the lengths such as jgymnast733, but I have given food and water to people either homeless or less fortunate then myself.

I've been mugged before and i'm somewhat skeptical when meeting strangers. My buddy once on his way home ( a drunk mess) picked up a homeless man off the street brought him back to his apartment and let him crash on the sofa for the nite and take a shower. A good deed... yes. Stupid and dangerous? Most definitely!
