Just got back from the local gay and lesbian film festival and saw two really terrific films, Undertow (from Peru) and Eyes Wide Open (Israel). Also caught Howl (with James Franco in the lead role). Anyone else see these? Opinions?

I have seen Eyes Wide Open.
I stumbled upon the movie just last month. And it is one the first "gay" movies I have seen from Israel. I am glad I did. What a brilliantly made movie! It didn't feel like I was watching one.

Such detailed imagery! One of the best I have seen of late. The love making scenes.....the hot baths felt so real.

Ran Danker is so hot and talented! Thanks to the movie, I also got introduced to his work.

I read several drafts of "Undertow" at a previous job, so I am kind of curious about it. Always thought the script had a lot of potential but was ultimately underwhelming. Be sure to see "Children of God," which was made by a client of mine.

viveutvivas saidIs it a reference to Eyes Wide Shut?

Eyes Wide Shut was a 1999 Release.

This one is "Einayim Petukhoth" . A.K.A. Eyes Wide Open [2009] for US Release.

Just watched Undertow. I loved it so much and was deeply affected by the depth of feeling that is contained within its simple yet surprisingly profound plotline. I highly recommend this movie, a true gem, which resonates to the bottom of the heart icon_cry.gif

I`ve seen 'Eyes Wide Open'. It`s a very good film and a surprising, thought provoking setting.
As a bearded guy who likes the same, it was perfect for me!
I also liked the 'oriental' representation of Jerusalem and the landscape.
