Congrats!!! Yeah, it is a huge weight off the shoulders. I remember I was in my dad's home office with my mom and younger brother going over what excursions we wanted to pick for an upcoming cruise that December. After my mom and brother left, I called my mom back in and said "I have something to tell you about me." Then I just said it...I never imagined that the two words "I'm gay" would be the hardest to say, but they were.
My dad was disappointed initially, but he has totally moved past it and we have a great relationship...in fact, we txt each other daily even though I am 180 miles away in college. My mom, who is a very blunt person, asked a lot of embarrassing questions but I didn't take offense because I realized she was genuinely curious.
My brother, when I told him, just gave me a fist bump and said "that's cool dude." Lol, my brother and I are totally different people and don't generally get along, but it was nice to see that even he supported me. He recently told me "I can't believe the size of balls you have to actually come out like that. Wow." I never imagined I would gain respect from my family for telling them something about myself that I was terrified to say for so long.
Again, congratulations!!! It is always nice to hear stories of successful coming out stories, because I know that another life can really begin!
