Superman kicks

I just started doing the Strength Foundation workout plan last week. One of the exercises they have you do, for the lower back, is this superman kick thing, where you lie supporting your whole body on your stomach and kick your legs up and down. I've done this twice, and both times I've gotten people laughing at me... Not something I'm doing again.

I was wondering if anyone knows any other workouts that work the lower back muscles so it's not uneven, but also not ridiculous-looking. I'm not one for humiliation, personally.

Personally I say ignore the people laughing. They are idiots. Do your thing and focus on your workout, not on what other people are doing.

    a) What he said.. Supermans are awesome, i don't care what anyone says.

    b) Other work outs you can try for lower back are deadlifts, and a bench i don't know even know the name for them to be honest but for lower back i use one of those benches and a 45 plate drop set to a 25 then do supermans.. 3 sets for each. After that i have to be peeled off the floor and can't run on lower back night.

Fuck them! I'm doing the Strong and Lean program and there are tons of exercises where I look like a complete fool, but I don't give a shit because it is starting to pay off. Don't sacrifice doing something good because of what some asshole thinks. I say do the superman kicks. I've seen really buffed out guys at my gym doing some of the silliest looking exercises, but there's a reason they're doing them.
