living together 24/7 vs. seeing each other 2 or 3 times per week

because of our work schedules (he works 7 pm to 7 am, i work 4 pm to midnight) and our mutual desires for private time, my long term bf and I only get together 2 or 3 times a week for dinner, drinks, sex and cuddleing after the "main event".

sometimes we will spend the night together, wrapped up in each other's arms and legs...sometimes we will go our separate ways after we are done.

it is our mutual agreed on and discussed hypothesis that we enjoy each other more this way than if we were together 24/7; that we would "get used" to each other if we lived together and that what we find so special, so intimate, so breathtakingly wonderfull would be dulled if we were always around the other.

we are both "Private People" who choose to live alone and who don't take offense at the other enjoying his own privacy.

but when we DO get together....dayum, it's GOOD! icon_eek.gificon_biggrin.gificon_twisted.gif

anyone else share our hypothesis on modern gay life?

lol straight couples were doing that when I was a kid, and many do that now.

What exactly is gay about it?

I liked it when we had our own places and he would come to mine or I go to his, but then I liked it when he started coming to mine most of the time and sleeping over during the week as well as weekends, and then I liked it when we moved in together.

I guess there are pluses and minuses about all arrangements, sometimes I would like some time and space to myself, but we give each other that and we are not together every waking moment of our free time.

I don't think I would like just being together 2 or 3 times a week for a few hours...to me that wouldn't be enough. But whatever works!

I practically lived with one of my boyfriends, and now that I look back on it, it's not something that I want. I like my "me" time. It's nice knowing I can just sit at home and relax by myself and not have to worry when someone else is coming home.

I've been living with my boyfriend for about 8 months now, and I absolutely love it. Yes, sometimes we get on each others toes and nerves, but I really enjoy it more than when we lived in separate places. A large part of that is the hassle involved in traveling between places, but I also like sleeping together every night. (mushy I know LOL)
