Yes, it is time to repeal DADT for sure.
But giving credit where it's due, the DADT thing initiated by Bill Clinton was needed at the time. It brought attention to the fact that gays can and do serve just as efficiently as anyone else. The ONLY reason he passed DADT as it is, is because society was not ready to go all out and simply allow gays to serve openly. In short, it was a single step forward from where it was beforehand. Now it's time to repeal that and let gays serve openly.

Yup.. but a little while after that he signed DOMA into law. It was politically expedient, I wouldn't give him too much credit for that.

I really hope they repeal it . Although a step in the right direction it wont change the minds and hearts of the hateful people who commit the atrocities acted upon Barry.

I have seen 2 people that i served with consistently harassed, outed and discharged on the basis of being gay.
It's that fear of shit like that happening when you're surrounded by bigots and you cant do anything about it is whats really fucked up.
And having to deal with it for 6 years or any prolonged amount of time begins to destroy you mentally and physically.

That is JB82's mentality. What else is new.

Yes I support permanent repeal of DADT. Gays are just as fit to serve their country as any other group of people.
