Any suggestions on what to do in Denver on Thursday and Friday nights?

I will be in town from August 26-28... Looking for fun things to do while I'm there!

I used to live there. For food, I would definitely go to Petes Kitchen. Famous greasy spoon. It's on Colfax. Capitol Hill Park is where all the boys hang during the day on the weekends still. As for bars, all the ones I once knew are gone now. Check westword.com for suggestions. or Gaydenver.com

I'll be back there in 2 days!!! but i fly back on the 26th haha.

    Its awesome up there.

    gay bars are
    Trax-Big Dance Bar
    Compound-Smaller-ish dance bar
Boystown-"strip club" (they don't take it all off, I didn't even notice at first [as i was drunk and being carted around])
JR's-Hangout bar (one of my fav's)
the Wrangler-Leather bar, but has a $8 Beer Bust for 4 hours on Sunday, and that brings a diverse crowd, and makes me very happy

    16th Street mall is cool
Just walking around the city is too
I plan on hitting up the Aquarium or Art Museum
I want to go hiking in/near the mountains this time too

Yeah, the "Aquarium" is awesome, a 'must'! It looks very disappointing from the outside but it is quite the opposite inside.
It is also a zoo with, among other things, tigers and otters (real live ones playing in the water tank- gives visual meaning to the expression "playful as an otter"). There's also a section of the "Aquarium" that has a dark canyon-like area which simulates flash floods with great sound effects. There is even one part where you can actually pet a school of sting-rays in a shallow pool!

Denver has a pretty huge gay community for the city's size, and has lots of gay clubs to check out.

On thursday nights, Tracks, the largest gay dance club in Denver has 'teen night' - but 21 and ups are allowed in with standard bar service. obviously a very young crowd, but since you are pretty young as well, you will fit in just fine.

Charlies, the country/western gay bar on Colfax usually has a pretty good sized crowd on Thursday nights as well.

On Friday nights, definitely check out the Compound on broadway, they pretty much have the best DJ's in town, and while its a fairly small place, the music is always good, and the dancing fun. predominantly latino/younger crowd there too.

Saturday night is the big night at Tracks, but from your post, it seems like you will be gone already icon_sad.gif
