OK, so I wrote this copypasta for posting in the adult webcam chat on here, dudesnude, and bigmuscle. What do you all think, and how could it be more effective at irritating those thinking with the head in their pants? (note: this does not reflect my actual viewpoint, as the thread title says, I am TROLLING)

Why is it that, on gay-themed sites such as this, people on webcams immediately break out into the most lewd forms of behavior? Why is there no civil discourse, discussion of societal issues, exchange of training advice or stories as would be seen in normal interaction with those with whom we are not necessarily familiar? Why is it that many expose their genitals rather than their face? No real connections are made here, yet this is a "social networking site" - I see no networking here, or even anything truly social - I only see the sexual. Why is this? Are we no better than savage beasts? I thought society had conditioned us to behave in a more respectful manner than exposing ourselves to strangers solely for the sake of doing so.

Any advice would be appreciated. It is a bit long, but I think it conveys the message with enough of a pompous douchebag tone to be effective.

UPDATE: I tried it in the dudesnude webcam chat, worked great icon_cool.gif

Smart kid. There IS no common etiquette when it comes to lust. I agree. I do believe just a tad bit that this website's subject matter is a biased sampling of men whether they be gay or not. Don't get me wrong, I know how the intellectuals love to beat around the bush when it comes to sex. But, there are seriously technical factors involved here for the most part including this site is covering international territories and there are not enough people from those territories to make it possible for social gatherings. You are correct again by insinuating that does not make it excusable to jump right into Cam action however, I can tell you no matter how considerate you are in pointing that out it will never change those taking the actions. You will almost always in someway be placed on the backburner with it until the masturbation crises is over. I have been finding lately that regardless of the obvious conclusion you can still get involved and remain being about what it is you are looking for without having to sacrifice your perceptions. I am definitely relating to the complexity of your revelations here because I do know when the herds are nearly running me over some will not bother trying to cover my bones along the way. But I ALSO enjoy all the excitement and rush everyone is having as they continually decide east or west for the privacy while knowing the rest of the herd will follow right behind. It makes me wanna find a horse and armor while waving my sword in the air I guess.icon_lol.gif

OK, we've never been into the adult chat on RJ because it's...well, adult chatting and webcam, which we take to mean sexually charged. There is a regular chat and webcam room on RJ as well as the adult one. That one we've been in.

...isn't this a little like opening a sex mag and complaining about the sex in it?

seriously, that worked? God they are dim as fuck, though you do nicely capture the holier-than-thou tone that is typical of semi-educated*, conservative Americans.

*which for this purpose means people with an undergrad or masterĀ“s degree, who would like to do a doctorate and talk about postmodernism. it would also encompass less able grad students.

Because they forget they're not being paid $5.95/min for it. icon_razz.gif

Forget webcams, how about simple unsolicited chat requests? Not even a visual medium, yet I've rarely gotten an IM here that wasn't lewd. (I ignore them.)

as a random parenthesis, I was chatting to a few friends in the chat here yesterday and this guy came in and said

"Why are gay chats always so boring?"
"because people like you use them", I replied.
He then tried insulting me for a few minutes but was ignored. Do you think he was trolling or just a twat?

Not quite - it's like opening a sex mag and pretending to complain about the sex in it.

That's what lulz come from... not necessarily upsetting, irritating and manipulating are also components of trolling.

...and we wondered why so many people are depressed. I think trolling as you describe it removes value from the 'net, and optimism from people.

I also wonder how many people in personal crisis have gone to a website they've frequented that is usually supportive, and spoken of suicide. They get trolled and the next thing you know they've done the deed having been pushed too far...for lulz.

Remiscent of people you hear of standing below a bridge and telling the potential suicide to jump.

I imagine this sounds harsh, Fearthefall, but possibly one day trolling for lulz may come back to haunt the troller in unexpected ways.

Trolling can also have positive side effects, such as increased vigilantism in a community, and it can also spark mutual interest in a common goal and spark up discussion.

Also: the majority of people who post about suicide on the internet are trolling. See Almostanhero on Encyclopedia Dramatica.

True this. And, that is why my outlook on "blocking" people has changed. I no longer block or "ignore his posts", because I personally feel a sense of community in sparring with online bullies, skags, and the such. In a way, you're playing "devil's advocate" and bringing an unexpected nugget of juicy intellectual thought to what is would just be a bland and routine fap.

In answer to your question, FTF, I think the troll is a bit long, but could be drizzled out over a series of posts and responses to entice more to join the discussion. It's much too obvious a troll when chunked out in one big lump.

    Hope this helps.

Update. Got reported to the dudesnude moderator after my 3rd consecutive successful day of trolling. I only used three phrases and caused a massive uproar: the above copypasta, "NO U", and "I AM YOUR OVERLORD OF LULZ" (typical retarded 4chan drivel), flooded to no end.

Death threats? Got 'em. Hate mail? Got it. People agreeing with my lame copypasta? Yep, those too, on dudesnude no less (WTF).

simple retort: There are a couple of guys with whom I have substantive IM conversations that I met through regular email. If there's some kind of "caller ID" firewall option where I can selectively allow/unblock IMs from particular members please let me know.
