Time is a man-made concept. It does not really exist.

If time passes slowly, it's a sign that one should put it to use icon_razz.gif

    If a person doesn't watch the time, it's a sign that he's happy icon_wink.gif

    in theory...
    it's... kind of relevant, yes?

It depends on your frame of reference. Imagine that you were diagnosed with a fatal illness, as I have been. In our minds, life is racing away, measured in minutes.

Life starts in small victories my brotha and seemingly end in large failures.

Take being high for example. Small temporary victory but the carcinogenic effects may lead to a large failure.

Would you embark on your journey again after you have experienced it ?

My weekends or the occasional day off I have mid-week fly by.

Work however drags....and drags...and drags......A minute seems like an eternity there.

Obviously you need to reminisce, thus there is time on your hands to do so... Plain and simple. Use it, don't contemplate it.icon_rolleyes.gif

This reminds me of a story I read called 'My Pretty Pony' by Stephen King

"An elderly man, his death rapidly approaching, takes his young grandson up onto a hill behind his house and gives the boy his pocketwatch. Then, standing among falling apple blossoms, the man also "gives instruction" on the nature of time: how when you grow up, it begins to move faster and faster, slipping away from you in great chunks if you don't hold tightly onto it. Time is a pretty pony, with a wicked heart."

Then there's my feeling, that time is like a river and the eddies are slow time (when not much is happening) and the current is fast time (when life gets interesting).

Joni Mitchell said, "Everything comes and goes
    Pleasure moves on too early
    And trouble leaves too slow"

Time exists because we can see this with age. But we created a illusion of time to keep us in check. To document events or to mark some kind of event.
For example 3:00 pm doesn't really exist. Yes I can see that, but a moment can be upon us and pass us by and in that moment time affected us. We aged. Perhaps we seen time's effects on the earth or something else physical.

What intrigues me is the effects of time on the mind. We can be running late to work and time seems to be moving faster but once we are at work time seems to move by much more slowly. Or when doing nothing time seems to crawl but when things pick up and get busy for you time seems to move faster. Well that is the case most of the time.
Or perhaps there really is no time to waste.

However as man we exist in time. If were to exist outside of time we would be immortal or ageless, I don't think anyone here is either of which. icon_smile.gif

We as human beings are so egotistical we think our perceptions have any affect upon time... Time to enter, live, and leave life. In no way does it wait for us yet get the wake up call and I guarantee every living thing will stand up in attention to time as it was created... And that means realizing that it was created by something other than our agenda. God is like two crossing roads of light in the universe and when they notice eachother as being just that, a universe is born. It was perfect and it kept us as small as we are right in the center, running things... BELIEVING in things. Who invented love, not us yet we are made of it when we are stripped down to our born givings. The world is a flower and the petals disturbed the darkness with color... WITH COLOR. It was NOT a war... We MADE it a war. It's time to come together as one spirit and thank God for giving our perceptions a way out. Thank you God...

We do not exist in time. We create time and laws of time to help organize our lives to be more efficient. That time is based on the frequency of shadows created on a rotating space rock that's orbiting a big bonfire. There is no scientifically proven fact that time has ever started nor will end. There are many beliefs and theories about it, though. icon_wink.gif

Simply put once more on this... We do not create time. I can only perceive our grandparents in the upper heavens playing a game of poker where the winner turns over his chips to a god of his choice. We are already humbled as a human race... Why dig a ditch for us to bury ourselves before God?

. . . it is because modernity has forgotten about the kairos . . . and because existence outside the techo-realm is nearly a criminal act at this point . . .
