Ok so this is where we at with it hiphop."My goons got goons, my house stupid dumb big, my rooms got rooms." Young Jeezy

Really? no wonder they pushed back his album. I love real hiphop, Eminem, Kanye, Wayne, TI, JAY-Z, but Jeezy should be ashamed of himself. Anybody could have came up with anything better than "my rooms got rooms".

did you know that Nicki Minaj has "more hoes than santa?"

'Hip-Hop,' today seems to be more about what the music video would look like; glitz and glamor is what attracts the children. There is no substance. Nas, KRS-1, Common, The Roots, [old school] Jay-Z were all good artists.

"they don't drink pepsi, they just sell coke" -jeezy haha

I like jeezy's voice, eminem and wayne just have annoying voices. The last time I heard Jay-z was at the mtv music awards and his voice was completely shot it sounded horrible. Its all just personal taste.

. . . in my house are many mansions . . . and many tasteless, gullible consumers who are quite happy to pay to consume shit . . .

. . . hip hop is the worst thing since Jim Crow to happen to the underclass . . . and you may quote me . . .

Haha true, but its all most of the people I know listen to and if it plays more often enough I learn the lyrics. and its always fun to pretend you are the music video for the song haha icon_biggrin.gif

If I was born in 1852, I would probably close my mind to any new music too.

I'm of the opinion that it's good for music to invoke emotion through lyrics no matter what the genre. I feel that GOOD hip-hop can achieve that. What do you think?

I don't know about Wayne being so great. He's had some very clever (even brilliant) rhymes I'll admit and he's certainly one of the most recognizable and popular artists in rap but some of his lyrics are complete misses. It doesn't take long when listening to him to find a line or two that completely doesn't make sense - sometimes I wonder if Wayne even knows what Wayne is talking about.

"When I was five my favorite movie was the Gremlins. Ain't got s-hit to do with to do with this but I just thought I should mention."

Then again that's when you know when you're the greatest, when you can just waste bars like that. lol

Hah I love Jeezy. Saw him in concert with Lil' Wayne, it went off. For me, Jeezy is like Lil' Boosie or Gucci Mane mixtapes, he's not supposed to make you think or be a lyrical genius, he's supposed to make you feel badass and invincible. I Luv It and Lose My Mind are my favorites. Great lifting music.
