Just Got Back From Voting In The Primary Election

Just got back from voting in the Florida Primary. My partner voted early this morning on the way to his office.

I voted as the Dolphin Democrats (the gay political group in Florida) had recommended for the candidates I really didn't know, mainly the many district judgeships, who don't really campaign much. The major candidates for state-wide office, the legislature and the county I had already decided upon for myself, but they were the same as the Dolphins recommended anyway. I publicly went against the Dolphins regarding one of their candidates in 2008, contributing heavily to his opponent, and I still get flak about it to this day.

Our polling place doesn't use the infamous "hanging chad" punchcards from the 2000 Presidential election here, but its "fill in the circle" method on a paper ballot is even harder for me. It took me over 20 minutes to complete my ballot.

I have 2 relevant medical problems: a benign essential tremor of the hands, and poor small motor movement control. It's sorta like having Parkinson's. Bottom line is I couldn't blacken in the circles with the pen, worse than a 3-year-old learning to color with crayons between the lines.

I had to hold the pen with both hands and go very, very slowly. I suppose I could have asked for assistance, I'm sure they must make provisions for the disabled and the elderly, but I wasn't sure if I was supposed to notify them of that beforehand, or maybe provide my own authorized helper.

So I was already there, and I figured I could struggle through it. Guess I'm getting worse, cause I don't remember this much trouble last election, or else I was just having a bad day, which can also happen.

Still, I like the good feeling I get from voting and participating.

OK, I must have eaten a bowl of silly this morning.

The image that came to mind from the topic title was opening a Dick and Jane book and putting a check mark beside either Dick, Jane, Sally, Spot, or Puff.

...perhaps I need a nice cup of coffee. O.o

OK, you silly thing. I just went back and edited the topic title from "Primary" to "Primary Election."

But how old does that make you, to know that an early elementary school reader used to be called a "primary"? Or me, for that matter, for knowing that, too? icon_razz.gif

Well, do you remember that time we played hoseshoes during a lunchbreak when Cheops was being built? I still have a giggle thinking of how you tossed so hard it hit that pharaoh on the backside. The whole work crew burst out laughing.

OK kidding aside, I hope it all goes well in the Primaries.

    I just voted.

    I voted REPUBLICAN!

Thank you Wilton for showing me the Republican light!

I would never have voted Repulbican if it wasn't for those vicious attacks you made against me.

It was just a primary, so you had to vote according to party affiliation anyway, depending upon your state. And if you voted Republican in an open primary state, that was a blessing, since you didn't pollute the results of a Democratic primary.

So I really don't know what you're raving about. You really are becoming the silliest thing here, you do know that, right?

And arrogant of you to have misrepresented what I wrote, which made no such assumption. But here is my quote from a post above:

"And if you voted Republican in an open primary state, that was a blessing, since you didn't pollute the results of a Democratic primary."

You will note the IF discriminator? I did not say you ARE a Republican, but questioned whether you voted as such in a primary, which Independents may do.

I wish I had a better opponent here, this is like beating up a child, and gives me no satisfaction. icon_sad.gif

Faker. All Wilton is here for is to play games- He's played games all his life---Hiding in the closet while in the army using his Theatre Major to get 25 years of service and then using that Major to fake a disability and get out.

And by the way I'm not your opponent---I just despise you--- you don't fool me-You're the one fighting to save yourself---- your arrogance and attacks killed me a long time ago. Just want people to know who you really are.
Like I've said before, you'd have no problems gouging my eyes out--you are a mean vicious BITCH -but you won't curse at me.

And how's your supply of Viagra?. Hope it's good so you can at least satisfy yourself from time to time. And beating up a child? AT least I've NEVER been accused of posessing child porn.

WOW, you are really jumping the tracks, this it some totally screwy stuff here.

Viagra? Child porn? Faking my disabilities with the VA and Social Security? Do you have any idea how difficult it is to get a determination of disability from the Social Security Administration?

Maybe next you can accuse me of being a serial killer? You are really getting sick, you know that? I think it may be time to put an end to these psychotic attacks. I begin to believe you are a dangerously unbalanced person, who doesn't belong here.

You do realize that you come across as utterly unhinged, right?

That is my best estimation at this point.

And you come off as how?

I Just want to explain my dislike for Wilton and his arrogant attitude. I have "disabilities" according to Wilton's description- I also have seizures but I have more than that--- I had a heart valve replacement in 1985 when my aortic valve became infected and there was no other option but to replace it- because of that valve replacement, I was placed on coumadin to keep my blood thin to prevent blood from clotting around the valve---2 years ago, I had a stroke while running on the treadmill at the gym because my blood was too normal. As a result of the stroke, I had my first seizure this past February and again in April. Ater the stroke, I quit running because my knees had been bothering me so I swiched to the eliptical and the bike. I started running again at the beginning of this year because I had gained 15 pounds and wanted to lose that weight. When I had the first seizure, the doctor said no more driving for 3 months, and no more gym. I told him that I could deal w/ the no driving bit but I will continue to go to the gym. If fact, the no driving part helped me w/ my running as I wasn't able to get to the gym as often and I would miss a leg day if I had to and I cut back on the weight that I had been using on my legs. By cutting back on my leg workouts, my knees improved greatly and i was back to running 30 minute sessions in no time. Although I' ve got a ways to go before I'm back to my 90 minute running sessions, I'm very happy to be back running.
Wilton's negative attitude and constant reference to his "disability" drove me nuts. With all that I've been thru, i've never once thought of myself as disabled. Before my stoke, when I had my 90 plus minute running sessions, I had numerous people come up to me and tell me how much I inspired them w/ my running. I would thank them and go on. I never would have dreamt of telling them I was "disabled" w/ a bad heart. So if Wilton inspires you w/ his gift for gab and his photos of a phone, a bike a scooter and a license plate- great. He DOES NOT inspire me. Wilton may be disabled, I AM NOT!
