My dear Sporty! Get well, OK?
Let me tell you about my own appendectomy, back in 1963. I had felt bad for a day, with a pain in the middle of my stomach. But on the evening of the second day I just collapsed. My parents took to the ER.
A nurse said I probably had just swallowed some chewing gum and had a belly ache, and to take me home. My mother, who was someone you didn't mess with, said I never complained unless I was truly in pain, and to have a doctor see me without delay. You did not argue with my mother. She saved my life.
The doctor had me taken into the operating room. I was later told as they made the incision in my abdomen, my appendix burst in front of them. Fortunately they were able to prevent me from becoming septic.
I was in the hospital for nearly a week afterwards. But that was the way things were done nearly 50 years ago. Not the quick in-and-out we have today in the US.
But anyway, glad your own appendectomy has gone well, and you can be in touch with us from your hospital bel, I presume. How different from my own experience....
