Does anyone remember this early 70's horror classic starring Kim Darby as Sally. This movie scared the bejeezus out of me as a kid and everytime the lights were out I would be scared of those hideous troll like creatures coming out and grabbing me.

Well a sequel is coming out this January starring Katie Holmes but the object of the creatures attention will not be her but her daughter. At first I was like no way is this going to be good because Hollywood just screws up remakes and how can you improve on a classic. Well Im a little more optimistic about this after seeing the trailer...be sure to check out the last part of the trailer about the 1:10 mark with the girl looking under the covers..wow!

I know it'll be good because I noticed that it was made by Guillermo Del Toro
That man knows how to make scary movies

Probably a little before my time, but I think I remember the movie being referenced as a small child. It was one of those movies I never saw, but I knew it was ...bad....

its not supposed to be filled with obvious scares and gore, its a creepiness atmosphere factor they are aiming toward. I loved Pans Labyrinth and I think people who saw this movie as a kid will probably end up liking this movie. I forget its been a year since I started this thread. The hurricane is going to derail my plans to see it this weekend but really looking forward to it

oh well I mean by all means see it if you want, but I would even add that it isn't really creepy... you will know what I am talking about soon haha..we can talk about it after you see it!

Then again, my friends were scared and jumping in their seats/covering their mouths at some parts so maybe I just expected too much and was let down..

I am a huge fan of scary/thrillers so if I am actually scared/my heart is racing, chances are it is really good at being that kind of movie and what I can tell you is that for me, it wasn't that kind of movie...

    like insidious was...or the strangers..

Saw it last night, quite liked it and found it creepy, mainly because I always had nightmares as a child of similar kinds of creatures being in my room at night.

I love the whole fucked up, dark fairytale stuff that del Toro is into. More please!
