I have been dealing with hip and back pain for past 8 years now. At first i thought it was a herniated disc and tried everything phys therapy, chiropractors, and finally had a laminectomy. That was 8 yrs ago, and its' gotten alot worse. what i found out recently is that was worse thing i could have done.
I had scoliosis also, and thats worse, and 4 herniated discs, and some spondylethesis now.

the funny thing is it has lead to hip pain also which i was told at hospital for special surgery in nyc, I had a torn hip labrum, so i had the surgery, it got worse. After i had the hip surgery i was told i have hip dysplasia, which is very rare in adults. It's found in infants when they are born, obviously not in the 60's when i was born. I also have flat feet and didnt wear orthotics, and did alot of high impact exercise like jogging, high impact aerobics thru my late teens and earlt 30's.

Anyway, i dont like drugs but occasionally(more frequent) take my pain meds when its bad. The only alternative is having a hip resurfacing but not sure if they can do that on hip dyspasia patients.

I still workout, not the type to ever give up, but just wanted to post to hear any responses if anyone can relate. the hardest part is being alone and in pain. I'm tired of going from doctor to doctor.
