Mine (3G) does too. I updated the OS and I think that actually hurt it. Certain apps have a terrible time operating. I still don't want an iPhone 4 b/c I just don't want to spend the money and it's not like I've missed any calls or texts b/c of the slowness. It's just annoying when it happens.

My iPhone 4 is pretty damn near perfect. Too bad it won't make me breakfast. I'm sure there'll be an app for that eventually, though.

iPhone is loosing relevance. Nothing special about it anymore when compared to other phones on the market.

Theyll gave u a brand new one if u take it to the Apple store, they wont even try to fix unless its software related in which case all u have to do is a restore from backup on ur iTunes library.

The applications available are a huge discriminator.

My 4, too, never misbehaves. Nor did my 3GS before it. My iPhone just works brilliantly. First I heard of such an issue.

Waiting until my discount rolls around in Oct before I get my iPhone4, or I might just let the contract expire. Whichever comes first icon_biggrin.gif

I just updated my iPhone to the latest firmware (4.0.2). It was jail broken but I got bored with it. I hope they come out with a new jailbreak hack eventually

former t-mobile customer here - tried all android phones, they suck, full of bugs, low quality hardware, ugly, slow, touch screen doesn't work they way it is supposed to....then i got an iphone 4...i love it...mine works flawlessly..not to mention it's so bold, high quality...i love it....icon_biggrin.gif

My iPhone 4 works great as long as I do not hold it. That is somewhat limiting on the use case though.

Did they send you the free bumper surround yet? I was planning to get one anyway, to protect it against drops, and to keep it from slipping off slanted surfaces. Much like the rubber cover I had for my 3GS. I have no reception issues with it, nor dropped calls.

The iPhone 4 is a piece of jewelry compared to the hardware running android. When iPhone is available on Verizon (and other networks), the android phenomenon, such as it is, will slow to a crawl. Controlling 'the experience' is why apple's stuff works... It's seamless. If you want to nerd out with a frozen waffle to your ear cause you don't like Apple dictating your phone experience, knock yourself out.

I got the shipping notice, but no bumper yet. I am somewhat disappointed I will have to use one. I am not a case user in general for my iPod and cell phones. I treat them with care, but view them a a depreciating asset that I need to have working for 12 to 18 months until I am ready for something new. Compact size is one of my biggest considerations.

My iPhone 4 works fine down in The Loop where I get 5 bars. At home here on the north side of Chicago sitting on my deck, I get 3 bars until I pick it up and it drops to no service. I have the updated OS for more precise metering. It seems to be locational as several neighbors have the same issue with the new iPhone.

My iPhone 3G and 3GS worked fine here, so my upgrade feels like a downgrade at this point. Will have to deal with the bumper bulk and see if that makes it usable? Glad to hear it made a difference for you though.

Check out the Incipio Soft Shell case... Understated, low profile, NOT bulky. People comment positively on the black one I use. Never had trouble with reception, and don't have any now.

    AGREE!

My iPhone 3GS worked perfectly until the piece of shit 4.0os came out. Thinking it would upgrade my phone as it advertised I upgraded it. But after the upgrade (and further upgrades in the 4.whatever realm) my iPhone is now slow as shit, and the apps constantly crash, freeze, and have new bugs I've never seen before.

Thanks Apple for reminding me that you are the new Hitler.
