I guess "Alexander" would be my fave. Colin Ferrel(?) has a mean looking tool. icon_razz.gif No, I'm kidding, I like "Outrageous".

I was going to say the same thing. What a great film and what incredibly sexy men - and they were supposed to be sexy for the film to work.

It's become one of the "Eating Out" movies ever since one of the hot male leads started flirting with me. icon_biggrin.gif

You know I watched an ok one last night called Poster Boy. Gay son of a conservative Senator is outed. Interesting. Good acting when the son is talking about how all he ever wanted was to be invisible and had just ruined everything. I'm sure we all have had nights like that.

    Tie:

    The Broken Hearts Club
    Shelter

Both are terrific movies without relying on stereotype, having superficial (SoCal-type) leads in the story, not being poorly acted or produced, no stupid campiness, and convey a more optimistic outlook for gay characters than their more tragic, pessimistic cinematic predecessors (like "Longtime Companion" or "The Boys in the Band" -- NO thank you!!).

    Other terrific titles:

    Beautiful Thing
    Get Real
    Latter Days
    Poster Boy
    Maurice
    Milk
    Brokeback Mountain

I suppose if I had to pick just one, it would be The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. Unexpectedly loopy movies always attract me. I even named a drag character I used to do as "Priscilla, Queen of the Dakotas."

A close second would be Victor/Victoria. Not strictly gay, but with a gay theme that was surprisingly powerful.

Yeah I want to know too! I think most of the main guys in the third one were gay.

I like the Eating Out films but take them for what they are, cheap fun and light.

I agree with a previous poster, The Opposite of Sex is brilliant. Another film by Don Roos called Happy Endings is great too, lots of gay characters.

I like The Fluffer but mainly because the 'gay for pay' porn star character is so fucking hot.

Well I must be honest, I can't just choose one either...! I didn't mention Ang Lee's BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN because it was the obvious choice but it really is an outstanding movie, probably the first gay movie my mother saw...and that IS something!

I don't wanna leave out another great film: THE WEDDING BANQUET by Ang Lee too! It is so amazing and charming on so many levels. Adorable main characters!

    Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's all about Scott trying to win Ramona, blah, blah, and blah...but Wallace Wells--as played by Kieran Culkin--owns this trip of an experience.

AND he's a total pimp! He's the only character in the whole movie getting laid. Period! And the movie treats his love life so matter-of-factly and cleverly that you wonder what's wrong w/ every other filmmaker out there.

See this movie, fellas. The rest of America got it wrong by letting this phenomenal film bomb and letting that huge 80's-Action-Movie nostalgia turd called The Expendables, splatter all over it. See it before it disappears from the forum in which it was most meant to be seen. Most visually, sonically, and thematically dazzling movie of the year, next to Inception.
