So, I'm almost out of room on my laptop. The solution, an external hard drive. The question is, is there an easy way to move my music library in iTunes, since that's the biggest part of it. Any suggestions? If not, I'll just have to get creative.

what u can try to do is move your music files to the external drive, delete the songs from your Itunes after making sure that your songs r securely backed u and the open the individually using I-Tunes again....try it with one song first and see if it works...this way...i think all your songs will sync fromt he external drive, but once u disconnect the drive, I-tunes wont be able to detect them.

Another thing is to download a program called "Sharapod"...what it does is that it used your IPOD as a USB drive and saves your songs in its own folder so u can copy your music from computer to computer...not sure how that will work for you but i figured i;d mention that as wellicon_biggrin.gif

Actually you don't want to re-create it you just want to move it:

if you are using windows this will tell you how to do it

if you are using a Mac, follow this one:

pretty easy. you move the folder and then tell itunes to look in a new location.
