Firstly, apologies that this isn't a "would you do the guy above you?" thread. I'm sure I won't get many responses because of that haha.

Anyhoo, I'm going to Seoul for 4 days at the beginning of November for a work conference. I'll have two days where I have nothing on (thus free to do a day trip) and probably time off after the conference each afternoon.

Given the relatively limited time I have there, any suggestions about things I should see/do would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance icon_biggrin.gif

I was there for one day and saw the imperial palace, which you wont be able to miss...

But I honestly have heard the Korean countryside is far better... dont know if you can take a day tour to nearby landmarks and villages

Go a bit north to the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) of the 38th parallel.

"The left side of the boundary in this image belongs to South Korea while the right side belongs to North Korea."

Oh man I LOVE Seoul great place and such awsome people! Hit the markets for some sensory overload Namdaemun and Dongdaemun Market and if you are into electronics the Yongsan electronuics market is a must see. If its a clear day go to Seoul Tower for a great view of the area, and lastly EAT! The food is fantastic go off the beaten path, most people speak some english and are super nice. Enjoy wish I was going with you.

I was wondering whether going to the DMZ was worth the day trip. I think it might be icon_biggrin.gif

    Thanks for the replies!
