    There is a similar presentation at the Hayden planetarium in NYC. Pretty amazing stuff.

    That was really cool I love that stuff. I wonder why the unmapped areas was like two big V shapes. I liked the zoom out scene they did in the beginning of the movie 'Contact'.

    They're similar b/c they're the same.


    This isn't the same as what I saw at the planetarium. It's the same idea but it was different, giving you an incredible _feeling_ of the vast distances.

    Interesting though that the unmapped universe is V shaped, I'm sure it has something to do with the shape of our galaxy and how that limites radio telescopes to function (or so?)

    When they portray the universe like that, connecting all the "dots" (galaxies), it makes me think that maybe the universe is one gigantic living organism, and we're just a teeny tiny yet significant part of it.
