Well then let's hope someone kills him before he starts. An eye for an eye leaves everyone blind. But sometimes taking a life prevents taking more.

Sad as it may seem, there would be a little bit of joy in my heart if David Bahati met with an untimely death- joy for those that might escape persecution or a death penalty.

On a related note, is he willing to commit genocide against the much larger portion of the population of heterosexuals who spread HIV through extramarital sex?

    Somehow, I think not.

If this Idiot starts killing gays as he apparently intends to, then someone will take it upon themselves to do just what your suggesting. Cannot say that I would blame them either.

I hope he does not get killed. I don't want him to be a martyr for the "kill the gays' people. I hope he lives a very long miserable life, knowing that his hatred lead to the deaths of innocent people.

If he were to kill all the gays, then what? His country would not even be 0.0001% better off than they are today. He'll have to find another group to demonize and kill off, then another, and another. Eventually no one will be left to blame on Uganda being a shithole of a country but David Bahati.

One does not have this much hate without being deeply in the closet, don't you think?

I'm usually not one to say things like this but I completely agree.
Perhaps it's just a little personal now that someone says they want people like me dead.

Sounds like he was molested / raped by a male in his younger years (highly probable a family member who led a straight life purely die to societal / cultural expectations / limitations). Unfortunately the hate perpetuates generationally and instead of going forward, societal views on homosexuality stagnate or go backward.
There are a number of African leaders (including dictators) who have a similar view of homosexuality - albeit not as vocal which I suspect also developed from childhood abuse. Unfortunately this not only stalls any positive progress in these nations for LGTBI citizens, but actually pushes things backwards. Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe is well known for equating gays and lesbians as 'worse than pigs' and regularly raids and imprisons members of Gay and lesbian organizations.

And we're afraid of Sharia law, when the Fellowship backs this lunatic? Theocracy at its worst.

Isn't there a big contingent of right-wing, christian missionaries in Uganda?

Some Africans view homosexuality as a product of European colonalism, so that is why they're harsh on gays. Also it could most of the hate on gays could just be a red harring so that public will have something to blame instead of the corrupt leaders.

Yes I agree. I also believe it commonly considered that HIV is a 'White mans disease' despite the increasing number of straight Africans being infected at sone of the highest rates in the world!
