I live outside of boston and the guy im dating lives in philadelphia. We plan on seeing each other once a month but i feel that is too long of a gap and want to make sure he knows how much i like him and its hard to make him feel special from far away. Should I send stuff like flowers and candy? What types of things should I do?

To keep the anticipation of getting together- I would definitely send him something he likes and surprise him, also a card of how I feel about him and how special he makes me feel. Such as gift card to his favorite store.

What about getting together in New York is half between Boston and Phil as a prelude to the big together? With the economy as it is, hotels are heavily discounting prices, plus a weekend in New York site seeing with him would show initiative as well as strengthening the relationship.

    Just some thoughts..

At least u 2 r in the same country and continent...While I was in relatinship, at some point, my bf was in Chile, and I was in China...now I am in Serbia, he is in China ( we both live in China, but he is in Beijing, while I am in Kunming on the south ). We haven't see each other more than 6 months..and we have this saying in Serbia - if someone is away from your eyes, he is away from your heart...You go figure!

Long distance is the wrong distance. Move to Philly for him, that's pretty romantic.

Well I'm actually looking into grad schools in philly so I might move there temporarily. But I still have a year of not being close to him. I just want to keep things going good. Any idea is helpful icon_smile.gif
