A bit too bland for my taste and I don't like the wall paper but I'm sure that it has some sort of historical significance.

I'm all for historical Americana in the Oval Office but that hideous phone from the 80's on the desk has to go.

I think bland suits the Presidents office.

If it was over the top one way we'd have just another distraction. I'm sure conservatives across the country would eat up the news. I notice the first comment on that website links the Iraq war with the remodeling of the oval office.

As in what does being attracted to men have to do with being able to decorate a room? What's the purpose in perpetuating a stereotype like that?

"No cost to taxpayers" is noted in the clip.

I guess the Sally Ann had a giveaway day. There is a psychology to it, someone mentioned that it wouldn't piss people off by being too flashy. This is true. But the scale of artwork, finishes on the furniture, tone of field color in the carpet all could have been more refined than they are.

The colors in the photo are off, check out the video, it does the room more justice. I think it looks fine.

Please not let that be fake ivy on the fireplace...

Seriously, I lived in a co-op where they renovated the lobby for $100K using that same wallpaper and the shareholders were up in arms.
