    Not really just premature,

So i just got the epic and wanted to hear about other peoples experiences with it so far. I upgraded from a BB curve

Proicon_razz.gifowerful, Touch screen feel and look is great, on par if not better than Iphone 4
Con: Battery life (4-6hours) keyboard not really worth it the keys are to slick to feel around.

So i'm a college student and use my phone all day long in class etc. All my school emails are forwarded to my phone I send about 50 txts a day. Use the internet to check random stuff while in class.

I've only been able to get about 4-6hours of use out of this phone, I turned off live wallpaper, screen brightness is at 10% 4g off, wifi, off, gps off. App killer is on.

Is anyone else experiencing the same problems? or do i have a defective model?

I particularly love this phone. I switched from the Samsung Moment (talk about short battery life)!

If you use any smart phone continuously, no matter which model/company you are with, the data usage will drain the battery. For you to be able to get 4 to 6 hours of continuous usage from any phone is great!

It is kind of unfair to say this phone is an epic failure simply based on battery life (which is great compared to how data/power intensive the android os is). Previous android devices would last about 3 or so hours if no features were disabled.

Samsung's engineering is great and they seemed to listen/observe the previous issues and responds in an appropriate time frame.

B.T.W. -- SWYPE is so cool!!! Lol

I like the swype function on it, that's a really unique feature.

Aside from that, I love my HTC Desire for all the things you've named and more :p

You rate this as a failure ... an epic failure because of a 4-6 hr battery life and a slick keyboard? Srsly?

Then the iPhone must be an apocalyptic failure because its keyboard is as shitty as they come, and the battery is a max of 4 hrs. constant use IF you're lucky.

That'a about the battery life I had with my iPhone 3GS, maybe even less, obviously depending on usage. My iPhone 4 is somewhat better, especially on standby. It often doesn't lose a percentage point of power all night while I'm sleeping, providing I don't get too many push news alerts, emails & texts.

I keep an extra USB power cord in the car's glovebox. Fortunately this car has a USB outlet that will charge the iPhone without need for an additional cigarette lighter plug converter. (It will also charge my partner's Samsung basic cell with its USB cord without a power adapter, either) And on the rare occasions I'm going to be away from home all day and indoors somewhere, like at my partner's office, I put Apple's very compact 110v to USB converter in my pocket.

Give it time. You have to condition your battery. When I got my Windows Mobile Samsung smartphone, the battery lasted only a few hours a day. But after a week of draining and fully charging overnight, the battery life improved. The key thing to remember is to let it FULLY charge. I know getting a new phone is fun and you're tempted to fiddle with it before it's done charging, but you gotta leave it alone.
