Couple of RJ Questions

    Couple of questions:

    1. I know that restricting your profile to be seen only by RJ members makes you ineligible to be voted MOTD. Are there any other limitations?

    2. If I get a long personal message, I sometimes like to copy it to a word processor or text editor to make my response, to ensure I am addressing everything in the message and to make saves. If I use MS Word on the Mac everything looks fine when I paste the text in the compose message window, but after the message is sent, I notice all the characters such as -, ", and ' are messed up, replaced by approx 3 characters. Any recommendations either how to get around this using MS Word, or if some other text editor, such as Text Edit on the Mac is better. Also, should the solution for personal messages also work for posting messages on the forum?

    Thanks.

That's always been the case, verified or not.

Using Word to compose messages seems overboard. But to each his own, I guess.
As for text editors, Text Wrangler for Mac. And Notepad++ for Windows.
The regular Text Edit program should work too. Just be sure to change the document type to plain text.
