So I just finished up with GNC's Pro Performance AMP - Amplified Mass XXX and thought that it did a pretty decent job of helping me to bulk up (and it tasted pretty damn good tooicon_smile.gif). Was thinking about switching it up and wanted to get people's opinions on what they think is the best protein product for mass gain. I hear the Gaspari and Optimum Nutrition brands are pretty good. What's your opinion?

I thought the vanilla tasted the worst shakes I've had. I haven't finished the tub yet but I haven't seen any noticeable gains yet as of bout 2 weeks using it.

Why do you need to gain? You look great already. You could do some toning up and you'll look really hot.

I used Optimum Nutrition. That's...actually what I still use. I just got to college, so I need to get acclimated to a new gym. However, once Monday comes back around, I'll be back to lifting and chugging protein.

    It's been a whole week. : (

Really? You thought the Vanilla was awful? I bought both the Chocolate and Strawberry, and mixed the two. Was soo good.

I don't NEED to gain. Just want to bulk up.

GNC PRICES ARE A RIP OFF. You should buy protein/mass gainers at bodybuilding.com they have good and more options you can choose. Plus the prices are cheaper than GNC.

I only buy with the discounts. But now I'm looking to try something else. You like any brand in particular?

I like Optimum Nutrition as well. I use their casein protein at night.

I buy my supplements at allstarhealth.com. Excellent prices.

I'd recommend plain protein powder, and adding your own carbs. You can use waxy maize, or frozen (or fresh) fruit, or a little sugar, or chocolate syrup, or whatever. This way, you can control the amount calories/carbs you consume.

Whenever I want a little extra carbs, I add some Glyco-Maize to my post-workout protein drink. I've used weight gainer powders in the past, and most of them contain inferior forms of protein. I'm slightly lactose intolerant so those weight gainers annihilate my stomach. icon_lol.gificon_confused.gif

I too think GNC's Amplified Mass XXX is a really good product. Plus have tried Strawberry and chocolate flavor and both of them are good. Tried some stuff from Optimum Nutrition tasted nice as well but didn't do much for me. Other thing I have tried is Cell-Tech Hardcore series chocolate flavor and didn't like the taste plus it never suited my stomach.

There are just so many that it really depends on what you try and how your body properly reacts and breaks down.

I personally use EAS and am very pleased with the results (bigger now than my photos in profile...and yes I will post new ones).

Optimum is good too but price is always a factor in my buy as the fitness industry, next to weddings, is the largest most lucrative entity out there.

muscle juice 2544, cheap and does the job, i need it because my metabolism could burn through steel icon_smile.gif

also GNC is viewed as heresy amongst pro bodybuilding circles for being rip offs or offering sub par standard.

Watch out for the sugar content on any of these products though; the human body doesnt need excess sugar and sodium to gain mass.

I tried a bunch of products. It was all just food, until I tried the SixStar protein shake. Even the SixStar whey didn't produce results. My friend Emilio, who is the welterweight jujistu champion from last year in California, turned me onto it. It worked for him, it worked for me.
