Geert Wilders will be speaking in New York on September 11 at a protest demonstration against the building of a mega mosque near Ground Zero.

The demonstration, organized by SIOA (Stop Islamization Of America), takes place at 2pm at Park Place between Church and West Broadway, near Ground Zero. Other speakers include Newt Gingrich, 9/11 Parents and Families of Firefighters & WTC Victims. By accepting this invitation, Geert Wilders expresses his support for the people opposing the building of a mosque near the place where Islam committed the worse atrocity of the past decade. The attack on the WTC towers on 9/11, 2001, was an attack on the entire Western civilization.

Just want you to know he is going to say stuff that not everyone in the Netherlands believes in. Even though the world will think he will be representing the Netherlands, it is not true. I heared pieces of his speech in Dutch, and if he is going to say it like that in English. He will not make a good impression for our country... I hope he won't get too much attention since he is only going to try to use the disaster of 9/11 to his own good...

Having said that I just want to add that I wish everyone all the strenght they need on this day.

Geert Wilders is een grote klootzak, de Nederlandse versie van Glenn Beck.

Like Glenn Beck, I can't even bear to see Wilders' pudgy, opportunistic face...

    ook zo'n klootzak...

he's one of the loud-mouth talking heads on Fox, a really right-wing television network in the US. he's just another opportunistic parasite, like Wilders--always seeking an angle of controversy because he knows it will take root, especially among the majority of Americans who, let's face it, aren't really very smart.

That man and that party is like the last hope for the netherlands. He may have some overly extreme views about Islam, but he's the only candidate that really believes in integration and he proved that most of the welfare services are being sucked up by a never-ending influx of third world immigrants.

Even if he does gain more ground, he will not be able to really do as much as he thinks, but it's certainly a move in the right direction.

As far as protesting the mosque, that is his prerogative. As long as he isn't suggesting that America should BAN the building of the mosque through government force.

    What sickening chutzpah.
Just imagine how'd you react if some Dutch fellow started lecturing you on what America needs.
Do yourself a favor, occasionally, and shut up before embarrassing yourself.

I happen to keep up with european politics. I would totally vote for the freedom party if I lived there.

Geert believes that judeo christianity and secular humanism and should be the dominant belief tendencies in the country, but rather than enforcing anything he simply wants to preserve it. He wants extensive assimilation programs to occur for immigrants. He wants to halt mass immigration from islamic countries. He does not appear to be anti-gay or interested in curbing gay rights. He is skeptical of the European Union. He wants to allow for repatriation of foreign citizens who have committed crimes....

"The party does not feature nationalist, xenophobic or antisemitic ideas, on the contrary: they emphasise Judaeo-Christian roots of the Western civilization.

In particular, the report stated that the party's pro-Israel stance showed that it was not neo-Nazi. It tends however towards a national democratic ideology. Wilders called the report "scandalous"—in particular the link between defending the national interest and the radical right."

sxydrkhair saidGeert Wilders is wasting his time and people who are joining the demonstration are either ignorants or bigots. There was a Mosque already there near the ground zero since the 1970s.

I don't even know who is Geert Wilders.

There is a difference between protesting via free speech and a government mandate that someone cannot build something. It's no different than gays protesting against a hateful extremist christian church.

So saying "hateful" and "bigots" makes no sense. Everyone has their likes and dislikes. You would probably appear to be "hateful" if you expressed your views on the westboro baptist church. I know I would...
