I just moved to a new town and I've met a few guys through various sports leagues.

    Any thoughts?

It's fairly easy for me to see guys I know naked in the locker room, because of my former Army career. I'd see fellow soldiers naked in the gym, with whom I worked every day, even officers more senior than me, my bosses, as well as my subordinates. And let me tell you about field living conditions -- no privacy at all. icon_rolleyes.gif

So I think it's a matter of mental adjustment, and just realizing it's one of those guy things you're supposed to do. Hell, you could be some millionaire at your country club, and you still might get naked with your golfing buddies in the locker room, too. In my generation, anyway, that sort of thing was considered a male privilege, that set us apart from shy women. And I still carry that attitude, even though gay.

tgrissom0312 saidSo, this is really the first time that I've ever had a real need to be in just a towel or naked for a decent amount of time at the gym. I'm actually proud of myself for not being uncomfortable at all about strolling around naked. Ha

The topic now is: Have you ever ran into an outside acquaintance naked in your locker room?

Knowing a friend only outside of the gym and that randomly running into them naked and having a conversation was a little awkward! icon_eek.gif

    Any thoughts?

I have a similar level of comfort with my body image so being naked in front of other guys is cool. And I have run into friends and acquaintances while in the locker room at the gym, so for ME it was not awkward. But I can't speak for them. Some of the guys will wear towels if they aren't comfortable. So was it awkward because they saw YOU naked or you saw THEM naked? icon_redface.gif

On the converse side of the locker room situation:

Some years ago I took an aerobics class with this female leader who really kicked our asses.

One time I was in the local DMV Building, taking the elevator up and this lady says "Aren't you going to say 'Hi' ?"
I looked at her closely and blurted out "Oh, Susan! I didn't recognize you with your clothes on!" icon_eek.gif

Red faced I had to explain that I meant "with your regular street clothes on, not your spandex exercise...: never mind.icon_redface.gif

This happens to me alot. My gym is just down the street from my work. So I often see clients of mine working out and in the lockerroom. I'm not shy and very comfortable with my body. So when I do, I just say hi. Even if one or both of us is naked. I got over that fear of being seen naked a long time ago.

It wasn't awkward like 'i'm about to run away' it was more just like 'oh, now i've seen your cock' lol

I absolutely have no issues with the naked in public thing. I also don't strut around the locker room like the 80 year old men at my gym seem to do. I undress at my locker and wrap a towel around my waste and walk to the showers...I may just happen to turn around and face the mirror buck naked and do some flexing to see how good of a pump I got that day...and if some lucky man gets and eyeful then good for him! lol

I'm sure those acquaintances are appreciative of the view ;)

I on the other hand, try to avoid the locker room at all costs....I wouldn't want to get sued for IIED by any guys near me while I undress!

I ran into the new young chiropractor who had recently worked on me naked at the gym once. It was cool. But what worries me a little bit is what Mr. Happy is gonna do if the guy you meet is hot (you know, BOING!!!)icon_redface.gif

I think you're more uncomfortable being naked than you think you are.

I play squash at a club where I see plenty of friends, clients naked. It is an old line sports club, so the shower facilities are pretty basic: open stalls, no curtains. Plenty of guys in great shape of all ages naked, though nobody "showing off." Everyone is pretty cool.

I see co-workers and friends in my gym fairly frequently. I was somewhat shy about walking around the locker room naked; always had a towell around my waist, but that changed after I got several compliments from people on my muscle development, especially from guys who knew me as a skinny guy from high school and college years. Just too bad that one of those guys who complimented me wasn't gay---he was very sexy!

European ,and Asian men are not shy..Canadians are not shy..
But here in AMERICA,for some odd reason men in general are still shy about nudity..I dont get it..
I guess because i was riased in a all NUDIST family..The youngest of 8..

Awkward i guess..But dont concentrate so much of your fear on the issue,or you will end up never go back to the gym,or the locker room. Most men will avoid the locker room, because they have personal issues.

Just say hello, chat a bit, and go about your buisness..So he checks out what you have, big deal..lol

Have fun, take advantage of your full membership, even if that means using the sauna and hottub naked. Who knows, you might get some new clients from the locker room and boost your sales at the office.

More deals are done in a locker room,or club house at the golf club.

Well I wouldn't exactly say Canadians aren't shy, it seems any under 30 these days don't shower and just quickly change from their gym wear into their street clothes or just come and go to the gym in whatever they're going to work out in.. thereby avoiding the locker room altogether.
