Everyone chases after happiness, not noticing that happiness is right at their heels. Write 5 things that you're grateful for today. It may change your perspective for the night, the week, the month, or the year. It's a good habit to develop.
It can be as small as the light turning green when you wanted it to anything you find in your day or lifetime.

    1) waking up
    2) in a bed
    3) roof over my head
    4) food to eat
    5) people to talk to

That will be the same for the rest of my life day after day... =)

I keep a gratitude list in the forefront of my mind - and I'm rarely down or depressed as a result of doing so. I'm grateful for a lot of things. Here are a few:

    * A good, healthy mind and body.
    * The man in my life.
    * Terrific friends and a few good family members.
    * Living in a great area with lots to do.
    * A ton of great experiences and fun memories.

Whenever I feel unfortunate, I remind myself that in this world, the US is about 4% of the global population, and we are the richest nation, and that I live in a zip code with only 100,000 that has the largest concentration of wealth in the nation, that I have no diseases (other than maybe a few mild mental ills), have all my limbs, a college education, and a family that loves me, friends that care, and nice teeth. icon_lol.gif When I see it that way, there is NOTHING else I can find to complain about.

I remind myself in a variety of ways to center on what is important, which is the fact that people all have similar goals, needs, and we all have something in common, and that always cures the guilty feeling of being more than fortunate.

That's what I'm talking about! Aren't the small comforts in life what makes the whole thing pretty cool.
Getting to sleep in and resting your head on an uber amazing bed! That's pretty excellent... with or without a person to share it with.
