I may not be anywhere near Miami, but if you ever need a local guide in the Cologne, Germany area, let me know...

You are from the Netherlands Antilles, I read? Are they considered part of Schengen?

If you have a chance check out the Miami Design district..very cool galleries and vibe

also gay life is kinda mostly on Miami Beach...the gay beach

12th Street & Ocean Drive, South Beach. This is the most popular gay beach in Miami. Right across the street is the Palace Restaurant and Bar, a great place to relax and unwind after sunning. To find a hotel room near the beach use these links, Gay Hotels Miami, Gay Hotels Miami Beach. Please note: the hotels in Miami are largely "Gay Friendly". There are only a couple of all gay hotels.

Let me know if you need anything while you're here. I hope you have a great time. Definitely stay in Miami Beach, not Miami. On Ocean Drive if you can swing it.

Haulover Beach is a nude beach , lots of hot men there but a lot of fat men and women too, if you want to show off your stuff, go there, don't forget your sun screen. I know you'll have fun in Miami, there's some think for everyone. icon_biggrin.gif

Dates? We'll be in Boston the end of September, but afterwards, and right up until Christmas we have some functions taking us onto South Beach, and nearby in Miami for the opera and other events.

Hmmm...Miami...sounds familiar. Isn't that where the shows "Miami Vice" and "CSI Miami" was filmed?

That's true. Twist is one of the best(and still my favorite) gay club in the nation. Ft. Lauderdale can be fun but the crowd may be a bit older than the OP is looking for.

Ft. Laud has a great younger crowd, but they're not as gropey-feely as the Twist guys are.

I spent many weeks in Miami and always had a hotel on south beach. Yes. you have to experience it... the News Cafe? is that what it's called? Good for breakfast.

Walk by the Versace mansion. It's all cool.

    Enjoy!

If one more tourist asks me where the Versace mansion is, I swear I'm going to bodyslam them in the middle of the street! icon_lol.gif

Don't mean to sound like a broken record, but be sure to spend some time in South Beach. The art deco architecture is great and the place has such a cool vibe.

Lincoln Road, Mary Brickell Village, South Miami (Gables/Univ of Miami area) and South Beach 13th ST (gay beach) are great spots.

Actually, the gay beach is at 12th street but that's a technicality. It's not like you can't walk out to the beach from 13th street and look right to see all the guys.

I wish we had some kind of permanent topical archive here, where we could post answers that other members can reference at will. On other sites I've been able to post lots of travel info about gay destinations all over the US, including South Florida and the Keys.

I've posted to threads here about Miami Beach, Key West & Fort Lauderdale countless times, with tons of links. But then those threads get buried, and we have to reinvent the wheel for each new traveler who inquires. Again, I wish we could have some kind of resource and reference archive on these topics.
