Last night I posted to a topic thread. The OP was an overweight lad who had just joined RealJock and already received some stick from a member of this site through his email inbox. He lashed out at RJ in general.
I took much time and effort to answer him with a long posting. In it I defended that the vast majority of RJ members wouldn't email such messages to him.
But the main body of the post was to encourage the OP to make an effort to lose weight, describing how I did it myself, and to set about it.
Less than 24 hours later the thread has gone, deleted.
My time and effort to discuss and be helpful to this thread was utterly wasted!
I actually wonder whether these forums should have the "Delete Topic" prompt at the head of each thread. Maybe only possible if no one had replied. But after that the thread should remain permanent.

I agree. This feature has NO justification and EXACTLY this sort of situation (a member makes an effort to reply in a way which could be useful to many and it gets removed) shows why it is so stupid.

It was shown that they had stolen the picture and was a fake. I believe the member was banned altogether for going into the chat and saying, "JEWS LOSE" a lot.

In other words, you got trolled, unfortunately. icon_sad.gif

Agree. Though I have no problem with mods deleting threads as they see fit.
