Strangers getting emotional in front of you

So I work in customer service and I hate it....Some people are so stupid but anyways I find it so intersting that complete strangers are so willing to tell you personal details about their lives......and more so get emotional in front of you and express even more...For example yesterday im working and this lady comes to ask me a question..... She has like three kids with her and she ask me where our camcordors are..... So I offered to walk to her to them..... So being nice I asked her how her day was going.... She just strated crying without like saying anything and not like a little bit of tears I mean she was basically on the floor having a break downicon_eek.gif.... and on top of that her baby (probably no more than 5 months old) strated crying too..... So I just grabbed her baby and tried to comfort it....I dont know why I did but I did.... and I asked her whats wrong?? whats going on??? Then basically she told me her whole life story.... Long story short is that she thinks her husband is cheating on hericon_confused.gif..... She wants to get a camcorder to catch him in the act..... I did not know what to say she just keep going on and on.... While I was suppose to be back to work a long time ago... I spent a lil over half and hour talking to the lady..... I just tried to comfort her and tell her to think of her children... My managers were looking for me but none of them actually came up to me and told me to get back to work... I was like come and save me pleaseicon_sad.gif So I just found a way to get out of it by like telling an invisiable assoicate behind her that I would be their to help them in a lil bit.... She finally said ohh im sorry how weird to have a complete stranger to come up to you and have a break down (wow you took the words right out of my mind)... I just smiled and said that I hope things turn out good for her and her kids.... and im so nervous that im gonna see this lady again and she gonna tell me even more..... So have you ever had a complete stranger come up to you and tell you everything I would say that work is the most common place, but how about like the park, or a store, or something like that??? I work in customer service so strangers tend to tell me things I would have rather not known but that just caught me off guard...

Call me weird but i've always dreamed about comforting or consoling a complete stranger.
I did have a few chances but not in the scenario really suitable for that.

While in the US Navy, I spent 6 months working as the Chaplain's assistant (between orders during Desert Storm).
I consoled so many strangers that I got to where I'd keep a knife in my desk (could do that back then) and offer it to the suicidal people who came in screaming and shit, and tell/show them the "proper" way to use it. Amazing how effective that was. icon_lol.gif

I actually thought about that. I do love helping people who need it. I also have fun fucking with people who pretend they need therapy just because they're lonely and wanting attention...and usually drunk.

I have pretty good intuition (or maybe subconscious psychic ability) to determine who really needs help and who's just wanting attention.
It could also be that I occasionally suffer from depression, and have "depressiondar" (similar to gaydar).

Like gayday, well i never that of it that way... but i do know when my friends are depressed but i think for most know when someone is depressed they exhibit some kind of physical saddness like being quite or not smiling.... so im sure a lot of people could tell when someone is depressed more than than being able to tell if someone is gay or not... but you dont need gaydar to be able to tell if some people are gay or not
