What does the rainbow flag mean to you?
Do any of you partake in pride parades?
I'm neither proud nor ashamed of being a gay American because being both gay and American is not an accomplishment.

Well, it's kind of a played out topic here, to be honest.

A lot of people have brought up this topic.

To me, the flag is supposed to represent unity between all people. The specific use for it as a gay symbol is actually counterintuitive if you think about the fact that the rainbow was first adopted to show unity between 'colors'.

As far as the pride thing goes... there are plenty of ways to show and participate in the celebration of the ameliorating of gay life with or without pride-specific events. I'm personally not fond of local pride events but that's mostly because the Pride in our area is poorly organized, poorly advertised, and really doesn't accomplish anything.

Not a damn thing. I always thought it was stupid, and never bought into it.
