Does Don't Ask Don't Tell (DADT) affect your decision (or thinking) of joining the military?

So, just curious more than anything else. I've considered joining the military at times in the past, including recently as I'm in nursing school. I considered the possibility of joining one of the nursing corps (most likely the Air Force), but with Don't Ask Don't Tell (DADT) still looming, and I'm not very confident that the repeal will occur on Tuesday. And even if the repeal does have enough votes to pass, I think the Pentagon will take forever with the conversion, that it might be a better idea to consider other options when I finish school and get my license, such as moving to NYC or California. I just don't want to have to work so hard to get into something and have the possibility of getting kicked out just because someone might have an issue with my sexual orientation (and I know that it doesn't happen to everyone, but you just need one jack*ss to cause a problem). I'm 35 now, and nursing is going to be my second time around career.

Thoughts? And, has DADT kept you from joining the military?

Not my decision. I plan to start serving mid 2012.

To be honest, if wasn't for DADT, I probably would have joined the military right after I graduated from college.. but yeah, I think the policy has kept me from joining.
