Ok for those of you who have them! Are they really as addictive as they say? And be honest to those who want them but haven't taken that step......HOW MUCH do they hurt?

Tattoos make almost every guy look hot who has them. But as with everything that makes men look hot, gay people then take it and abuse it, putting a plethora of tattoos on their bodies thinking it automatically makes them look hot. But their insipid presumptuous flaming personality still pervades, making them still look ugly, and in fact dragging down the lush aspect of tattoos.

So please, if you are a flaming pompous dildo and think a tattoo will make you hot, please don't. Instead, you will make the tattoo ugly.

But if you act like a rude New Yorker that shouts epithets while waiting in line at the grocery store, then a tattoo will make you look hot, you know like the bad guy that's a dick but you totally want to suck his dick because you think he's an iconoclast.

They hurt but they are addictive. I've got a few that I love and I few I would like to get rid of, but that is usually the way it seems to work out, it looked like a good idea at the time type of thing I guess.

Pain is all relative kinda like the bel scale. Regardless, just really put thought into what you would like to permanently place on your body. I'm still trying to come up with someway to cover an existing tattoo on my body. Haven't got there yet...

I have one tattoo and it was done about 4 or 5 years ago now. To me it's a symbol of who I am. Is being tattooed an addiction? Not for me but some people get off on feeling pain and if that's your thing I can see where it would become an addiction. In terms of pain, previous posters are right that pain is fairly relative but there are some areas that hurt more than other.
    1. Ribs 2 Throat and 3 Feet are supposedly the worse in terms of pain. The one I have was done on my foot and the worse pain it felt like was a dragging cat claw in combination with a bee sting. Other times I just felt vibration and it was kinda like whatever. Good luck if you are getting one just put a lot of thought into getting something you like.

the pain is minimal...no big thang..kinda like a constant scratch. afterwards it feels like a sunburn for a bit. i am not finished with my first sleeve and have started planning my back...
dont just walk in to see any tattoo artist..check out the portfolio and be sure it is somewhere's thats not visible in work clothes.most important, be sure it is worth having FOREVER.

Please, just don't get some stupid tattoo of a scorpion or some dumb-ass small thing. I wanna see a guy with a python tattoo wrapped around him from head to toe.

They are addictive, but it isn't an addiction that is unstoppable. The feeling (yes it is a little painful, but also exciting) is what is the most addictive part about getting one. I'm not one who would ever use the term "additive personality" to describe myself. The cost, permanence, and desire to have pieces I thoroughly enjoy keep me from getting tattoos everywhere and I would say keeps most people from going fanatical about getting tattoos.

Don't worry about them being addictive, but instead think carefully about what you get, how will it look in the future, and be sure that it has some meaning to yourself. This requires a bit of introspection and planning. Also my advice is to go big or go home, have a grand plan versus collecting assorted "prison tattoos" and try to have something designed and drafted especially for you.

There wasn't much pain, however, the outlines can be an annoying pain in the ass because the artist has to go over the artwork a number of times to make sure the ink gets down past the dermis.

My designs, I drew out myself because I had specific purposes for each (mainly to cover stretch marks, lol). If you are considering a tattoo, please choose the location carefully.

They're a huge turn-off for me. I guess I don't get it. There's nothing individualistic about them in fact it's just the opposite in my mind. Something that appeals to the great unwashed masses.

It depends on where you get them. Some of mine didnt hurt at all, and some hurt like a bitch.
You just gotta decide if what you want is worth the pain (however minimal or more.)

Of course they hurt. You are being pricked by a needle injecting ink into your skin. That said, some areas are more sensitive than others.

I am not sure if they are addictive. I think if you want tattoos, you'll want to get more. I got my first at 16. Though I am not tatted all over, I've spent about 20 hours under the gun. Will I get more. Yup. But its just cause i like them. I like the way my body looks with tats and I like other guys that have them,

Never get a tattoo to impress someone or to be cool. Tattoos do not make the man. the man makes the tattoo.

oh and a tattoo does not have to be some deep philosophical statement.sometimes, its just for show and for the art. If you need a a tattoo to express your inner being, you are way off. what you need is a therapist.

I have a tattoo. I am not addicted to it. I wanted to get one since I was 16, and finally did when I was 19. It hurt but not in a bad way.

After my first one I was addicted and constantly wanted one. After my third one i realized i was done. All of mine are meaningful in their own way. One is for my past, one is for my friendships, and one is for the death of a lover. My ribs only hurt because it's big and they rub the excess ink off with paper towells in between adding more. So basically it's like a rug burn getting stabbed with a needle. The one on my abs tickled... seriously i laughed. It was a very painful tickle don't get me wrong, but it wasn't horrid. The one on my thigh was the worst. Ppl say over bone is the worst, but thats false. The worst is where there is no muscle or tissue to stop the needle. The inside of my thigh felt like someone was eating my leg... seriously.

I love tattoos and think they're ridiculously hot, even though no one i've ever dated has had one... or a piercing for that matter. Someone only vanilla guys are attracted to me. Bad boys think i'm good, and good boys don't realize how bad i am i guess.

I've designed 5 I'd like to have in prety good places for me and my body type, I"ve done the photoshop work and mocked up pictures of what I'd look like with them :-) But 2 are on the ribcage and I do keep hearing it's the worst! Across the back, shoulder and chest are my other areas.

I have not heard many men be so honest that's why I wanted to open it up here on RJ, seems you guys really don't mind opening up! icon_biggrin.gif
