What is your most (#1) favorite action movie?
Mine is Terminator 2: Judgment Day because Sarah and John Connor rock, and the T-1000 is cool. I don't care much about the Governator.
The Terminator is also good and moving. Kyle Reese is my hero.
Both films have satisfying stories and are on IMDb's Top 250.

Same. T2: Judgment Day is one of my all time favourite movies. I love everything about it. A tough feminine character with inner demons, a kid with father issues, a stranger who unwittingly becomes that kids' father figure, hi technology, science fiction, male nudity........icon_biggrin.gif

Raiders of the Lost Arc. Saw it when first released in theaters, really impressed me with its nonstop excitement and excellent production values, great John Williams score, and the acting also a notch above the usual action/adventure crap. Totally impossible situations, but one of the few times I was willing to follow my late partner's admonishment to me, to "suspend disbelief."

The 80s definitely spawned the best action films

Die Hard is my all time favourite, every christmas me and my dad watch it

    Leathel Weapon

    Terminator

    Kill Bill

    Commando

    True Lies

Anything with Bruce Willis and Jason Statham gets my vote

My favorite is still Speed. Loved both Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock in that one - they had such great chemistry.

2 All-time faves are Tears of the Sun and Armageddon.

While the latter is a bit older and somewhat comedic, they both have an underlying theme that really resonates with me which is sacrifice for the greater good.

Some of these probably lean heavier towards drama, but whatever.

    Batman Begins
    The Dark Knight
    Count of Monte Cristo
Master and Commander (ok, historic naval action, but still)
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
    Snatch
    Blood Diamond
Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2
    Casino Royale
    Inglorious Basterds
    The Departed

OUTBREAK. Not exclusively action, also some science thrown in (though quite inaccurate).

Still, this movie inspired me to get a degree in Microbiology. I think I can quote the whole movie.
