My goal when I hit the gym is to gain lean muscle mass, so I have been combining both weightlifting and some cardio. However, if I am trying to gain weight in the form of muscle, cardio seems somewhat counterproductive because I would just have to eat even more each day. Any pointers/suggestions?

what i've gotten so far is that eating is a big part of gaining muscle...eating often and healthy is really important. i think cardio is also important but i'm not an expert at all, as i just started lifting last year. since ur like trying to gain lean muscle mass i think short somewhat intense cardio session won't eat into your muscle mass and it'll also train ur muscles and aid in the rebuilding process. I'm trying to get to be a sprinter's build just more bulkier, so i like sprint a mile everyday. i hope some of this helped.
