What would (or did) you do the day your face fell?

I figured I'd embrace middle age since I've enjoyed an unusually long run but after seeing how much Jackie Warner deteriorated since "Workout" while watching "Thintervention" today on the heels of a 30th high school reunion mortality check I'm having second thoughts.

Is there relief or regret once the bloom has finally left the rose? How would or did you handle the morning you woke up and no longer looked like yourself?

I think I’ll wait for an interpretation
However, I did see a few of her first season shows a long time ago and I recently saw a promo for her new season and thought WTF happened to her.

you do the best you can to age 'gracefully' accepting it, yet feeling ok to change what you don't like. There is no reason to fear maturing, it is a natural phenomena that occurs to all who are lucky enough to live to see it. You live healthy and go in for your 3000 mile service regularly, and make sure you do your fly up after you pee. When you get older, you make sure you undo it BEFORE you pee.....keithicon_cool.gif

    To Funny!
Whenever I feel like I looking too old, I just go on the Hetro dating sites and look at pics of guys my age! Problem SOLVED! Then I realize why girls are always saying gay guys are hot!

    We're all getting old
It's not a .... one day we look in the mirror and it's wrinkle city
    but changes occur
as a man we can grow older and still look hot
keep a healthy lifestyle keep up with our workouts
eat right and we can look just as good as any 30 year old

Part of the reason why you see a change in Jackie Warner is that you haven't seen her for some time
and I do agree this time around she seems gaunt and stressed

I think Jackie's facing something that I once heard in a quote, but I am not sure who it was from....it went something like this

After a certain age a woman has to choose between her face and her bum.

The implication was that if she was heavy enough to have a healthy looking face she would have a big bum, but if she was thin enough to have a small bum, she would look too thin and drawn out in the face.

It looks like Jackie has sacrificed the face to have the skinny bum.

To me, and this just my opinion, some people can look good with the ultra lean look and others can look much better if they added a few pounds because they have taken the lean look to a point that it does not look good on them.

In the case of guys, they may be pursuing the six pack while women are focusing on their ass. Either way the face could be the trade off they make.

I know this might sound like blasphemy on real jock, but to me, the lean look does not look good on everyone, in my opinion you have to have the right firmness in the skin to pull it off.

Think about it, what do people do these days in addition to botox to look younger. They get "fillers" to plump up their lips and faces. People don't get as many face lifts to pull the skin tight, they get the skin filled in with fillers to reduce the lines and wrinkles.

Back when facial wasting was a problem for HIV positive guys they used these fillers to plump up the face too.

So men and women, who are pursuing in the lean look, sacrifice the body's natural filler, fat, and it can look bad in the face as the skin sags.

Also, for some reason whether its biology or social norms about what looks good, women have a harder time with aging in general.

Jackie is only 42 but to me she looks older (in the face).

You're right, my go-to assumptoin was that Jackie Warner's face fell because of too much sun exposure. I think it was the actress Catherine Deneuve who famously said "At a certain age you have to choose between your face and your ass " or some such. Maybe it's different with men - I've been literally working my ass off cutting lately and I keep expecting to look droopy and haggard but it's all still tight as a drum with nary a line or pore or gray hair at 48, go figure. Sometimes I wish it'd all head south just to end the suspense because it gets tiresome being treated less than respectfully at first blush when you're still mistaken for your friends' kids.
