McCain isn't in denial, he's choosing to avoid the facts.

I know the military very well, too, and I know McCain is lying.

He actually said to a citizen of this country, "I don't care what you say." That's telling, isn't it?

He may be a U.S. citizen, but he is not an American. He is not a war hero. He is nothing.

Don't say he's not a war hero. You're in the same denial he's in.

he may or may not have been a war hero. He definitely *has* been a total, shambolic failure as a civilian. If he wants to serve his country in the C21 he should retire, shut his mouth and let his daughter take over.

McCain is just scared shitless of the religious right wing. That is most likely one of the major reasons that he supports DADT.

    He WAS a war hero.

He IS a miserable, turdish windsock who is no longer deserving of respect or admiration. He, like most modern "Republicans," damages America with his every action and his every word.

To say he was a war hero is a completely subjective statement. Having survived the nightmares of a POW camp or receiving a Purple Heart does not necessarily make somebody a hero. The definition of hero - an individual distinguished by exceptional courage and nobility and strength - does not fit McCain's character profile. Besides, in my opinion, McCain's current actions as a politician nullifies all that he did back when he had a soul.

Now, he wants to privatize veterans' health care, and refuses to permit gays and lesbians to serve their country in the military. Niiiiiice.

As a veteran, myself, I reserve the right to say John Sidney McCain III is not a war hero. He's not a hero at all. He is nothing, and when he dies he will be forgotten.

Being shot down and taken prisoner does not make someone a hero.
McCain had a long history of wrecking planes.
As a military man, he was an incompetent bumbling boob.
Real military heroes should be disgusted.

I can’t believe he had me so fooled that I voted for him in 2000 primary; the “maverick” Mr. Campaign finance reform…What happened to that guy?
Yes, a stroke or onset Alzheimer’s; something, he can’t remember what he said weeks ago.
He needs to go. If by some magical manipulation of the electronic voting machines’ he is able to hold his seat; I can only hope he retires before the public finds out his staff is propping him up.

But John Kerry... now that's a real war hero. icon_lol.gif

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Kerry_military_service_controversy

    Compare that with:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_W._Bush_military_service_controversy
    As I understand it:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swift_Vets_and_POWs_for_TruthSince the 2004 election, the term "Swift Boating" (or "swiftboating") has become a common expression for a campaign attacking opponents by questioning their credibility and patriotism. The term is most often used with the pejorative meaning of a smear campaign,[119] but has also been used positively by a conservative.[120]

And none of their allegations have been proven and mostly contradicted by other witnesses, while one even retracted his membership in this group and voted for Kerry. So your point is?
