I was pleasantly surprised with the 2008 edits on Michael Jackson's 25th Anniversary of Thriller. The majority of these new tracks were produced by William of the Black Eyed Peas.

Is this a Hit or Miss?

I actually feel you shouldn't mess with perfection. And Michael Jackson, pre-weirdness in the early 1980's, was a fucking musical genius. Thriller was, and is, one of the greatest albums ever recorded. Nary a clunker in the bunch, and the artistry/craftsmanship becomes clearer with every hearing. Just listen to the opening bass playing in "Billie Jean", and you know you are hearing popular music at its artistic peak in the 20th century.

i like it, but as jarhead said, it's not an improvement unto itself. it's interesting, and the production is good; however, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. i love michael jackson's artistry - he doesn't need some whipper snapper producer to make him relevant, since mj is the one who invented the mold everyone since has popped out of.

It's like taking a burger patty and turning it into salisbury steak... Both versions are about the same quality.
