So, I went up to Maine this weekend for a whitewater rafting trip and had a lot of fun. I've been before and it's just an incredible experience. As much fun as it is meeting new people when rafting with a company, I would really like to learn more about whitewater kayaking so that I can venture out with, say, a friend rather than a company some day.

I have a couple questions for those of you who have been whitewater kayaking before... Where have you kayaked or where do you? What type of kayak do you use? Give me any info or advice that you may have because I am really interested in learning more about the sport!

    Thanks!

The Rio Grande at Pilar, New Mexico, Category III rapids south of the Taos Gorge.
It's as much fun and excitement as you can possibly have. Plus you get the beautiful natural setting and a great workout too.
But you need a guide who knows the rocks and currents well,or else.
