I am not even sure if I should be typing this in case he reads this. I can't believe how stupid I was. I drove 2 hours to meet a guy on Saturday night. I thought he was cool from the phone conversation and pictures I saw. He said he wasn't into hook ups either. So when I meet him he must have taken that one good photo or something. I don't like people that lie about there appearance but I guess we all do. Than we are hanging out and he decides that he will try to start taking off my pants but I don't let him so than i just move away and he does his thing and than he brings me back to my car and I leave.

Such a awkward situation but I am happy I didn't give in. I don't know if anyone else has any horror story like that. I am very happy that I had a back up plan but I feel so retarded and dumb. I can't believe I wasted over 2 hours of driving and had to pay for a hotel room. I am so embarrassed and ashamed of myself. Does anyone else ever done anything like this? I don't even know why I did it. I guess he got the last laugh got some to drive 2 hours and waste a shit ton of money for me just to leave. I guess though he didn't get what he wanted. Why are guys so sneaky. What the hell was I thinking?

    Live and learn
We/most have been there…isn’t that why the invented the built in cam with IM.

I’m glad you left; people should not be rewarded for misrepresentation, because it must be working for them or they would stop.
At least you had a backup plan.
Prepare yourself to be called shallow, because of course it is your problem not his.

    Pretty much this.

Bravo to you, cee87, for leaving and not giving him what he wanted. I wish there were a site somewhere we could post the online names of these total LOSERS who try this crap.

Don't feel dumb and berate yourself. This has happened probably to all of us at some time. You were a nice, trusting guy that learned that you just have to be a bit more careful. And even at my advanced age, after having to deal with these frickin assholes many times over the years, sometimes I still fall for their crap.

My approach now is that I just go into these situations expecting a fake and kind of treat it like a game. Most time I catch them and don't have to expend my time and energy, but sometimes they do still fool me. NEVER give them what they want. In your situation, I would have planned an alternative activity (if one was possible), in case it did not work out. Thus I would not have expended the time and money for nothing.

It is tough that you spent that much time and money. I think you have learned that you should not do that in the future - a hard but valuable lesson. Laugh it off and move on.

In the words of Ronald Reagan, "Trust but verify" is a good way to go, if possible.

I had this happen to me once. I drove 2 hrs to meet a guy I talked with everyday on line with and on the phone with for 2 weeks. I decided to spend money on a room too. we had convo that I would drive out get a room we would have a nice dinner, go out for drinks and if all that went well go back and have a late night chat. I made it clear I wasn't looking for a hook up and He agreed and claimed to feel the same. I drove out, checked in to the room gave him a call about dinner plans, said he would be right over. Bitch never showed and never answered his phone.. I found out days later he went out with his friends instead.

Stop beating yourself up. You did nothing wrong.
We all hunger for a little masculine physical contact.
And, since most guys don't go out to bars any more, we take our chances on the internet.
    Don't give up.
    And, don't lower your standards.
    You're a prize.

Aww mate... . I feel for you. You won´t do it again though, will you? My rule: if people won´t verify on cam then they can travel to me and go right back again if they are fake.

A guy wants me to drive or take a bus 1 1/2+ hours to snuggle and if I feel comfortable, sleep at his apartment... All I know of him is talking with him online/phone. He said he would pay for the bus ride backicon_rolleyes.gif

I'm actually tempted to go... just to see what it would be likeicon_lol.gif.

Dont ever drive two hours like that again. FTS! Make all first meetings convenient for you....in a public place.

You did absolutely nothing wrong and it sounds like you handled yourself very well. Next time if you find someone you're willing to meet, do not meet him at his place, even if you are driving to his city just meet him at a restaurant or cocktail bar/lounge.

I never meet anyone without a photo on his profile. I never meet anyone without multiple photos available. Just today I found out on Manhunt the torso I've been lusting after for years does not belong to a "43 year old" but more like a 53 year old bar fly that I've seen trashed at the bars way too often. I don't get how some guys can keep in good shape and still drink that much....

    BUY A: rubberman-webcam.jpg

and only talk to guys who have a: webcam.jpg

So you can see what they really look like and interact like on skype or another video chat service:
    videos_homepage_new.jpg

Webcams are for your saftey. Never meet a guy soley based on his photos or phone conversations. Only talk to others with a webcam! If they don't have a webcam than they should be ignored! If you don't have one, it's time to spend $25-50+ to buy one!

Unless I get a backdrop like Peewee Herman, I will never web cam. My computer is in the basement office, along with the dog cage, a spare mattress leaning against the wall, and the furnace. Totally seksi!

Most netbooks and laptops have them built in these days, so you can move around your house/apartment and webcam anywhere you want, even outside by the pool or up in a tree house. I've seen guys on cam4 jerking off while their driving to work in their cars/trucks. lol The possibilities are endless with battery life and a good wireless/mobile internet connection.

Happened with me once but i didn't drive that long. Still it sucked. So now if somebody wants to meet I just ask if we can cam first.
Good thing is just a few days back somebody messaged me on another site to meet and we chatted, exchanged pics he was good looking and all. Then I asked him if we can cam and make sure we are the people we say we are. Guess what he never replied back.
So stick to using a cam if ever meeting at someone'e home or before driving a long distance.

It's a good thing BuyAWebcam registered on Real Jock today. Otherwise this webcam related topic wouldn't have had a post contribution by a member with a topic-relevant username. I hope IEnjoyWine registers today and posts in the wine thread.

I have a Mac desktop currently. I assure you, if I ever do get another laptop, the most exciting thing anyone will see me do on webcam is drink coffee at the kitchen table, lol.

This has never happened to me but I don't hook up often. And I host, so I can slam the door if it does ever happen.

But this has happened to everyone I know.... So its not something dumb YOU did, its something deceitful HE did...

I once dated a Guy, who upon meeting suddenly gained about 100 pounds. I just thanked him for the waste of my time and left.

Yeah nobody else would of mentioned the use of a webcam. It's the most important factor in meeting someone from online these days!

Everyone should be required to have a webcam. I think it should be a required law. The lies, the BS, and the airbrushed & photoshopped photos some guys use need to stop! But I realize many guys want to live in some false reality...but they should keep it online..and within gaming/roleplaying forums. Not try to fool those who want to meet them with photos that don't look anything like them.

Webcams are the best invention ever, hands down. It's saved me so many trips and time. "NEXT"!
