I feel alone alot of times being a gay father, so its always nice to hear from other gay dads to know there are other gay men out there that value their time with their kids and are proud being a parent.

I have a 22 yr old son thats a marine, my 19 yr old daughter just had her 1st child so im a grandpa now! I also have a 10 yr old son that is the sweetest little boy ever. My kids have always been a top priority in my life and have given me the strength to get thru hard times.

There is no other love like the unconditional love of a child. How many other gay fathers are out here and what do you single guys think of gay rj jocks with children?

    Very proud of my kids.

My daughter co-founded the Gay-Straight Student Alliance at her High School.

Me to 12 year old son:

"you like [____ my partner at the time, eh?

You understand we are more than just friends?"
    "duuuuh!" What's for dinner?

Me to 13 year old daughter:
" I want you to now I am gay."
    " OK."

    "Just OK?"

"Gee, sorry for the anticlimax. You want a party instead?"
"If you wanted us to think it was a big deal, you and Mom should have raised us differently."

I consulted by kids before I asked my Danny to marry me. Their response - "just let us know when, we'll be there."

I have three daughters, ages 9, 6 and 2 years old.
My other half doesn't like me posting pics of our kids on RJ or Myspace either. That's why you don't see them here.

That is a good policy for any site really.

Two sons, 28 & 30. my wife and I adopted them at 9 & 11yrs. Each of us has been thru the fire with the other and we are very tight. Both my sons know about me and support me and my wife of 26 yrs has been my rock....and oh, KENTSTRONGTOM....why not just let us think you are a moron instead of opening your mouth and removing all the doubt....keithicon_cool.gif

Oh, congrats Redbull, I also have 2 grandsons. Hopefully when they're at the age of majority, they won't think twice about gay or straight, right?

My son is 12 (13 on Wednesday) and my daughter is 11. And, yes, I am out to them and to their mother (and to most everyone I know).

There is nothing I have done that is at one as rewarding and as humbling as being a parent. In some sense it is the most straightforward thing in the world. In many others it is worrying and frustrating because there is no 'right' way to do it; we all make mistakes; and the stakes are high. Let's just say that I think it takes a sense of humor to be one of my kids.

In other news: Redbull is a grandfather! Wow! If RJ every gets around to it, he has my vote for GOTD (Grandfather of The Day) icon_wink.gif

I have 10 and 5 year old girls.

Someone must have told them that "daddy likes men now." The 5 year-old's response: "Does that mean I'll have two daddies now?" (all the while her smile brightening the entire room)

I have not seen or talked to them in 9 months. Their mother is refusing all contact.

Love to hear about this! My partner and I are hoping to adopt in the near future. Trying to figure out all the in and outs of that process. We have grown and nearly grown nieces and nephews as well as a 2yo niece and another one coming any day now!

Two girls 6 and 2. 50/50 custody even though my 'gayness' was brought up in court constantly.

For some of us the path is not so clear, it's not that gay dads were all in denial, it's that we all have our own paths to this place, and for some of us the path is more cloudy and the trail crooked.

Nice to read about gay dads, I've wanted kids ever since I can remember and am always thinking about possible names etc.

Not sure how it will happen yet but I'm sure it will one day.

I'm curious as to how many of you guys are bi or were "straight" when you had kids. We're you all married?

beautiful, djaj,,brought tears to my eyes. And to answer some other questions here, alot of us were in the straight life for whatever reason, married and had kids. We also decided, again for whatever reason, not to live repressing our true selves, thus kids with gay dads.

Thanks for starting this thread, brother...It's great just to see you all here, I think it is cathartic in so many ways...keithicon_cool.gif
