So with October pretty much here we have a few new horror movies coming out.

    Case 39
    My Soul to Keep
    Let Me In
    Catfish
    Paranormal Activity

What are some of your opinions of these movies?

"My Soul to Keep" and "Let Me In" look very promising.

I'm sorry but catfish is in NO Way a horror film, dont go to that thinking it is...if you do you'll be highly dissapointed.

I'm looking foreward to paranormal activity 2 and the Night of the Demons remake.

I've seen Night of the Demons, it's ok in a trashy sort of way but not scary!

I am very dubious about Case 39, since it has taken ages to come out since it was filmed, not usually a good sign!

Not a horror strictly speaking but Buried is good, IMO.

Not heard of My Soul to Keep or Catfish, will look them up.

Let Me In - definitely want to see, but can it stack up to the Swedish original? Not sure I like Chloe Moretz for the role...

I saw a special showing for Let Me In in Minneapolis this past Wednesday. Suspensful? Yeah. Scary? Not really. The consensus was it was an ok movie, but definitely Americanized, through a very blunt explanation of what is going on, as opposed to the foreign version, which left some ambiguity. The casting was done really well, and Chloe Moretz did an excellent job, but for anyone who was a avid fan of LOST, it will be difficult for you to watch Jack's "son" act as the bully... hahaha.

Elm street remake on blu Ray. Nice to see a really sick fuct crueler again, as opposed the clown version he became.

My soul to take, curious to see what mr. Craven has up his sleeve.

    Case 39, rental.....

My Soul to Keep and Let Me in are pretty much a lock.

Non horror tip - I'm looking forward to seeing "For Color Girls" which is an adaptation of the awarding play and poems by Notzake Shange. I read the poem in the 9th grade. The trailer looks awsome!

He cut the title down from "For Color Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Was Not Enuf"!

I hope the movie does Ms, Shange's body of work justice.

case 39 is already on DVD it was made in 2008 (2009) but they shelved it due to horrible performances. I saw it already and you can download it online in HD
    lol

the young girl thats in it was in eclipse the 3rd installment of twilight and was a teen and here when it was made (case39) 4 years ago, she was 9. so thats cheesy. but the chick has acting chops and we will be seeing more of her

the "let me in" is a remake of the Swedish vampire film "let the right one in" which is dubbed in English and 10x better, rent that on netflix.
even the English to Swedish translation is nailed right. so this is the American remake since we have such shitty scripts going into circulation. sometimes it sucks to work in the industry

Meh didn't really like the original "Let the Right One In" except for maybe the killer ending icon_cool.gif

"My Soul To Take" looks pretty cheesy, especially with the classic teen cast. From what I gather about the trailer, dad is dead homicidal maniac and the son is wondering if he's been killing ppl lately... snore

    I'll wait for Saw 3D icon_biggrin.gif

Paranormal Activities wasn't that good :/. Had a few nice scenes, but overall meh.

I preferred Drag Me to Hell over that.

I heard Devil got good reviews, probably because M Night Sham. didn't write it, only directed it.icon_smile.gif

It's a neat little thriller, but M.Night didn't direct, he wrote the story - someone else wrote the screenplay and another guy directed. A good thing IMO.

Did i reverse it? Maybe he directs usually and doesn't write it? If that's the case, he should definitely stick to writing.
