I've never cried at most of these.

    Hallelujah gets me sometimes though.

I never cried on those songs, but Tears in Heaven and Hallelujah are really giving me shivers.

James Morrison's "When I was little" as much as Hey Rosetta's "Hospital Beds" are two songs that made me cry in the past.

    (Cause You Sacrifice
    all Of Your Life
    and When You Die
    is That Alright?
    when You're Bathed In Light
and When Your Body Bursts Wide Open
    do You Start To Cry?
not Cause You Die, But Cause You Die Still Hoping?)

None of those songs make me cry. Only onions and some posts on RJ do.

Tears in Heavan, Nothing Compares 2 U, With or Without You, and Streets of Philadelphia have all made me cry or gotten me close to crying.

Another one to add to the list - Both Sides Now. Not the original but the one Joni Mitchell did with a new jazz influenced arrangement in 2000. Such a beautiful song - have a video of her performing it on my profile page.

There are 3 modern day songs that will cause me to well up a bit: icon_mad.gif

    1. In My Life
    2. Over The Rainbow by IZ (Garland's version is bloody crap)
    3. Hallelujah - (From the Shrek movies.) More the melody than the words.

There about a dozen or so operatic pieces that have the same ill effect. icon_mad.gif

    Cheers,
    Keith

Although I never cried to these songs, they have made me think and become sad.

Philadelphia by Neil Young from the movie Philadelphia

Alone Again Naturally by Gilbert O'Sullivan in the 70's

listening to songs doesn't really make me cry. I think possibly watching an emotional performance of a song could bring me close to it.

Everybody hurts is a great song btw, Michael Stipe has so much feeling in his voice.

Annie Lennox also has an ability to put a lot of emotion into her songs. "WHY" is a good example
