I'm looking forward to the release of Windows Phone 7. I like that it will be different from other smart phones on the market. Who else shares my interest?

Coming to ATT next month. The UI is gorgeous. I've always liked the Zune interface. Glad they adapted it into WP7. All the preview videos and pics have been impressive. I'm on the fence about it though.

    Pros..

    • Multimedia capabilities. It's basically a Zune phone.
    • Social-centric. The hubs and home screen tiles are a great idea.
    • Super easy user interface.
    • Built-in Office support.
    • Several hardware partners.

    Cons..

    • Lack of apps. Not sure if MS ironed out the details of an app store yet.
    • No copy/paste. Last I heard there was no copy/paste. icon_lol.gif
    • No Mac compatibility. Contrary to popular belief, some Mac users do like the Zune. But the Zune software is Windows only.
    • Zune software to manage the phone, apps, music, videos, etc. iTunes is such a bloated piece of shit because it's a do-it-all software for the iphone. I suspect the Zune software will see more bloat over time as well. That's what I like about Android phones. Just plug it in to your computer and it shows up as a USB drive. Then drag/drop files with Explorer, or Finder, or whatever.

I've been following it with little interest until the last couple months. I'm one of those rare people that really enjoyed WM 6.5 [and before]. I loved my Touch Pro 2 with HTC Sense. I'm not huge into the app craze right now so it's not on my hot list of possible upgrades.

I'm going to keep an eye on it because I do love WM but I'm thinking Android is my next step.

Windows hasn't made anything impressive for years now so it is hard to get excited about their mobile OS. They are going to have to work hard to be "cool" again. I think Apple and Google will be the mobile leaders and RIM and Windows will just be there on the side as the other alternatives.

I'm excited just to see how well it does against other phones. I currently have a zune since getting rid of my iPhone. Love the service provided for the zune player and now that MS mobile is going to run the same OS and work with the service is awesome.

I take it back. MS announced there will be a Mac version of the Zune software. Despite what brands you prefer, choice is always a good thing.
