WAS IT HARD? Voting in the RJ Bootcamp Resort Contest

So.. we were all encouraged to vote for those RJ members who entered the RJ Bootcamp Resort Contest.
You were to vote for 5 based on profile, etc. Probably a number of reasons beyond just the profile.

I had several e-mail me and ask me for my vote. I had no issue with that. There were also several who tend to post the forums frequently and I was compelled to support them based on what I know of them and their personality.

There was also a cutie from a certain Texas university that moved me to vote for him early on.

So did you vote? What was your criteria if there was any? Did you vote for 5?

yep and my vote was for those in most need of guidance, support and a kick start to getting their goals and not for those that know it but just want taking up a level.

There was no way I was going to read through that huge list of profiles, so I voted for 5 guys I like who are regular posters to the RJ forums.

Well, I was all excited about voting. So much so that I started a thread for those looking for votes, to post to, and then I realised, it was only verified members that could vote icon_sad.gif

So, it was easy for me, as I couldn't vote icon_smile.gif

I think it was easier to get verified than to vote.

I went the shallow option - opened the 20 profiles with the hottest pics from the list. Then I went through all those profiles and discounted everyone who had not posted on the fora, leaving about 8. Then I went through those ones and weighed up the value of their posting to the relevent forum.

But at the end of the day, if I didn't they think they were already hot, then I didn't vote. I'm sure the bootcamp will be more fun for the participants if everyone's hot. icon_biggrin.gif

I'm definitely not going to win if everyone voted this way, lol!

I voted for five. I voted for people I've corresponded with, and people who are active on the forums.

I happen to think the campaigning was just a little bit on the shameless side, considering what was meant as the spirit of the contest (inspiring profiles). But then, the fact is that it's unlikely that anyone went through and read all the profiles. Knowing how long mine is, it would be tough to have the time or energy to get through them all.

I had a couple tough choices to make between members that I really liked and had found to be great folk. I have no doubt that in the end, making the decisions between several people involved considerably more subjectivity than would have been preferable.

    ---EDIT---

    Also, it's always hard.

Come on, someone had to say it.

Well, shamelessly, my first vote was easy. I voted for myself, even though I think there's virtually no chance I'll win. ;) For my other four, I mostly picked people who post to the forums, and who aren't already virtually physically perfect.

Online contests always get me excited!

Like when www.aceofbase.de hosted a remix contest of Cruel Summer back in 2001, I went crazy!!

Acers had to vote for the best one and a close tie came between me and Calboy from Brazil, (who is now a professional DJ and producer)

This one seems very tight, so many choices, and so many different walks of life! Cheers to the winner. I hope it's someone I recognize from the forums...I voted for the Texan members who inspired me with their profiles.

I idn't know we could pick 5 people. Although it was a pain in the ass searching for the profile i was voting for. I wa asked to vote for him so i did. I tried to anyways. I think they should put a limit to how many people can enter these contests. Or at least make it in ABC order or something. If voting for the prez was like this i would so become a non-voter.icon_rolleyes.gif

I voted for the ones who seemed like they were working hard but would benefit most from the personalized training this offered.

I purposefully avoided voting for anyone who already had the body, clearly they didn't need it.

Chad's a great guy, but I have to say I'm sorry someone who would benefit more didn't win it. Chad's already got a great body, and is clearly doing something right.
