NakedBudd saidI admit that I am old-school (and old! 56) but I just cannot get into wearing below-the-knee "shorts" like the young guys wear today.
I like wearing shorts and a tank top so I can see the muscles tense up and work.
Flaming and tacky comments not allowed.
Since when is 56 old?! Haven't we all been inundated with the "60 is the new 40" thing :-)
But it's definitely a generation thing. I wear running shorts in the gym with a tank top. Always.
I do have some "longer" shorts that most people say are still too short, but I don't care.
Really, I'm there to work out. And I prefer less clothes. Yes, I like to see my body so I can see what I'm doing. Getting all dressed up in long clothes seems totally illogical.
Also, if I do try to wear all the long baggy stuff that the younger guys wear, I will look even more out of place.
Yesterday there was a young guy in the gym in the "typical" attire - long black shorts down to mid calf, black socks pulled up, so there was only about 2 inches of leg showing at all. Black shoes, black tank top, and the ever-present baseball cap on backwards. And of course, tattoos all over.
To me, that just was not a pretty sight.
Overall, it just cracks me up that guys, especially gay guys, complain about seeing legs. One young guy posted here a year ago that he was "disgusted" by the sight of a classmate in shorts. Seriously? This is like back to puritan days.
So I vote we all keep wearing short shorts and tank tops. The world needs less uptight stuff.
And if you see a body you don't like so much, then mind your own business and just don't look!
