I just got back in the gym about three weeks ago. I know things are not going to happen over night like getting huge but it doesn't look like I'm getting any size in my arms and chest. I'm takeing protein 2x a day and jack3d 1 half scoops before I work out. Should I just stick with that.

Hey man, if you're interested I could email you a list of the supplements I take and some instructions on when and how to take 'em. It seems to work for me. If you are interested, shoot me a msg with your email addy. it would take up a bit of space here.

The biggest key is diet. Cliche, I know, but it's true.

When I first started working out, I thought I looked okay. Then I added about 100 grams of protein to my diet (mostly shakes) and took a nitric oxide product, and I gained about 15 lbs in a very short time period. People started making comments about how big I was getting. Keep in mind, 15 lbs for a guy my size makes a big impact.

You need to balance that with good, quality carbs to fuel your muscles and prevent muscle protein breakdown.

    and plenty of water!!

Outside of that, if you want to take other supplements, then you probably need to experiment with various ones to determine which ones impact you the most/best. What works for one doesn't necessarily mean it'll work for another. For me, NO products have worked best.

    Good luck!

When I first started training I'd take creatine before workouts and protein after... I noticed muscle gain in about three months and it continued after that. I stopped the supplements for a while after I hit my target, then got a trainer later on and did creatine and protein again, as well as glutamine (his recommendation). Saw some great improvements again. Took another break, and now I'm doing the creatine/protein/glutamine combo one more time to try to pack on a little more muscle.

I try to be careful with all this stuff in general 'cause it can be hard on your body, but it's helpful sometimes to break through plateaus.

Raw organic eggs in smoothies are the best source of protein, micronutrients, good fat, and many vitamins/minerals. I get the most cut when I lower my carbs and take 7 egg whites with 2 egg yolks a day (throw the extra yolks away). Have fun.
