So I am still trying to balance my diet and I am realizing I am not getting a lot of protein at the start of my day.

My day usually starts with a bowl of Bran cereal with 1% milk and some fruit. My morning snack is usually some fruit..

What suggestions do you guys have to improve my morning intake of protein? What do you guys have for breakfast and morning snack?

(Some things to note, I eat at 4:45 AM and really don't have time to fully prepare a breakfast.. Nor could I be making a ton of noise that early in the morning. So it would need to be somewhat fast & quite of a meal to eat.)

Anything to help would be awesome.

You could boil some eggs the day before and eat them in the morning. Hard-boiled eggs will keep for a few days in the fridge.

Oatmeal is a good choice, instant is fine.

Other than that, maybe a protein shake or bar.

I agree... hard boiled eggs. Good for easy protein when you're out and about too.

I have a similar situation that I have a long commute so its out the door early, what I have been doing is taking a Whey protein shake with added unsweetened soy milk, to add additional protein.

Once I get to the office, I have a yogurt such a Fage 2%, plus some fruit, plus some carbohydrate such as muffin. Hope this helps.

umm... eggs is a classic choice.
    Cottage cheese is good too.
Just add either to your meal.
For a quick meal: eggs + oatmeal with a little skim milk is very "yum".
Cottage cheese and fruit is also good (bit sweet for my morning tastes, but definitely good).
(Also eggs, mixed with cottage cheese and chives (takes like 3 minutes to make) is really good. Just use cottage cheese like you normally would milk to make scambled eggs. You can also add some tumeric, cinnamon, mustard powder, nuitmeg, etc if you going chiveless. Surprisingly delicious.)

Black beans and scrambled egg whites. I usually prepare enough beans to last the week and just have them ready in the fridge. They are great for every meal, a good source of protein, and fiber. Scrambled egg whites take about 3 minutes to make so it wouldn't be that time consuming.

Put a scoop of protein powder in your cereal to up the protein quotient. Sweetens it up too!

I agree with yogurt and kefir. I've been using kefir for a while now and feel I should put the phrase "just a regular guy" in my profile.

    Non-fat cottage cheese is easy.

Smoked salmon is my favorite and easy also.
